Gosh, you PC guys just can't catch a break, can you? First you don't get the BioShock demo with the Xbox 360 crowd, then some of them got to buy it early, now, just when you were told that the demo was coming today, it 's been snatched away from you and sucked back into the ether.
According to ShackNews, which was touting the Friday release date as recently as yesterday, "there is no longer a confirmed date for the BioShock PC demo." Now, that doesn't mean it's been delayed, it just means that it won't necessarily be coming today. (Read: Get ready to sit on your hands.) Ah well, at least you guys get to buy the game for $50, that's something, right?
[Thanks, Eric]

Haha, that's pretty funny, in a sick and sadistic kind of way. :(
I wanted the demo today! I can't really explain why I want it, since I've played the 360 demo twice, I just do.

Consoles first, they are the prority. PCs are for work, gaming PCs are nothing more than a money pit.

This week has just been terribly handled, start to finish.
Both demos should have been released at the same time, even if it was the weekend before release. I just don't get the holdup for the PC version, although I've heard rumblings about a new driverset from nVidia being the main reason for the delay.
PC retail boxes should be allowed to activate, even if the consumer DID get them before street date. Its one thing to hold a store chain accountable for breaking street date, its completely another to hold up a consumer who may not have known a street date for the game (unlikely given the ad and press blitz, but still) and prevent them from unlocking a product.
Do they really want to crash ALL their registration servers at the same time on Tuesday? PC gamers will happily do it for them if thats what they want. Then they'll be wicked UNHAPPY the same day when they can't unlock the software as servers go down.
Yay to Irrational for making what looks to be a fantastic game. Boo to 2K Games for jerking our collective chains around.

I asked this on the other thread about Steam, but I don't know how many people will see that thread. If I buy the retail version, can I register it on Steam, like HL2? If I preload from Steam, will that take the place of an install from the retail version?

Some of us would prefer to play it on the PC even though we have both.

Good question. However, and you'll appreciate this, the PC version, is $10 cheaper. Like most games for the PC, which leaves me to question, WHY the F-CK is Microsoft pushing Windows Gaming when they have the 360 market (to recoup from)???

I've a gaming PC and no 360. Why would I want similar yet less versatile and completely inferior hardware?

"I've a gaming PC..."
OK, that's really weird grammar that a German exchange student I knew used sometimes. It always really bothered me. She'd say things on an internet messenger like "I've to go." Just odd.
Sorry to interrupt, back to your discussion.

@tetranitrocubane. i understand the PC preference. but if you wanted to see what the game was all about i would imagine the 360 demo would tide you over.

Thanks for the info James! Yep, I just checked Filesplanet and it's updating every two hours, so that's great news! Still, I have the entire game preloaded through STEAM, patiently waiting for Tuesday...
