>:(
Erwos @ Aug 20th 2007 8:11AM
Wasn't Two Worlds delayed?
And, yeah, yay Bioshock!
Justin McElroy @ Aug 20th 2007 8:51AM
Amazon and EB are also still showing the Aug. 21 date. Let us know if you've seen something different.
Dapper Dan @ Aug 20th 2007 10:23AM
delayed until the 24th.
Kouse @ Aug 20th 2007 8:11AM
Brain Age 2 is going to pwn all those games (Metroid 3 too...isn't that due out this week?)
Danners @ Aug 20th 2007 8:26AM
I'm guessing you haven't not seen, played, or heard about BioShock, have you?
megaStryke @ Aug 20th 2007 8:53AM
We all have, doesn't mean that Brain Age won't beat it out. Remember the first one? Yeah....
TRUTH @ Aug 20th 2007 9:30AM
Yea...
Pass that Good stuff you got!!!
Vidikron @ Aug 20th 2007 11:09AM
It may well beat it in sales, won't make it the better game though.
Kouse @ Aug 20th 2007 11:12AM

xXFenixKnight13Xx @ Aug 20th 2007 8:24AM

Kouse @ Aug 20th 2007 8:30AM
lol Danners, what does that have to do with anything? should the better product win? yes. does it? almost always...NO.
Intentless @ Aug 20th 2007 8:46AM
I can not wait for BioShock. Two Worlds looks like it should be something to enjoy as well.
Karen @ Aug 20th 2007 8:51AM
Justin, the Virtual Console games are:
Super Metroid
Neutopia
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
I'm shocked Virtual console has two games I"ve been waiting since November to get. Super Metroid and Neutopia. I'm glad I'm on Vaccation today.
bounchfx @ Aug 20th 2007 8:57AM
jesus, how many times can they delay Two Worlds, and what for?
that game has gotten pushed back by little bits (month, then a couple days, another week here and there) more than any other game I can remember. I'm really interested in trying it though as it looks pretty cool.
and Woot finally Bioshock.
and ps3 gets...a game 360 has had for months.
it's still a sweet game though.
blk_ballard @ Aug 20th 2007 10:32AM
Watch the language first of all! Secondly, Bioshock and Super Metroid!!!
hapes @ Aug 20th 2007 10:42AM
Watch the language? What did he say that was offensive?
FrankTheCrank @ Aug 20th 2007 9:05AM
BTW, did you guys know, BIOSHOCK is coming tomorrow?
Wow...I haven't seen a game hyped us this much since that whole LOST PLANET thing.
2K hearts Joystiq.
Any fans of Half Life 2 that have played BioShock? What's your take? Is it as good or better than Half Life 2?
Cherry May @ Aug 20th 2007 9:23AM
Better than HL2.
You know that part at the start of HL2:Ep1, where you're thrown across a chasm and into the citadel as if you were in some totally awesome rollercoaster ride?
Bioshock is kinda like that, except that feeling crops up constantly throughout the whole game. It just doesn't give up on the endless "oh my god, this is incredible" moments.
The entire atmosphere is just breathtaking.
bounchfx @ Aug 20th 2007 9:46AM
wow cherry, it sounds like it's probably going to become my fav single player fps.. HL2 was, I thought it was just phenomenal .. but if what you say (and the reviews) is true... I can't wait. tomorrow, woot!
copa @ Aug 20th 2007 9:54AM
Really, Frank?
Yesterday, Sheppy went on an awkward tangent about how Resistance:Fall of Man was a better game than BioShock (not that he's played it).
And now, you're going to play the BioShock=Lost Planet card?
I thought you were the new, loving, FrankTheHippy. Let's all enjoy the good games as they come. I can't wait to see LittleBigPlanet.
By the way, you can read Sheppy's review of BioShock here:

FrankTheCrank @ Aug 20th 2007 10:02AM
Copa,
True...I am trying to be the peace loving anti-fanboy, my post was regarding the mad coverage that Joystiq is giving. From the reviews and what not, I guess it's well deserved. It just tends to be overwhelming sometimes.
Peace!
FrankTheCrank @ Aug 20th 2007 10:04AM
Cherry,
Thanks for the review...I look forward to this game. If it's 80% the game HL2 was than it should be well worth the price of admission.
Jake @ Aug 20th 2007 10:59AM
Bioshock's attention can't be called hype. It is getting attention because everyone who has played it thinks it absolutely kicks fucking ass. Leave the fanboyism at the door, because this is one of those games that you can't hardly say anything bad about. All you can really say is "I don't like that kind of game."
R.Kneyber @ Aug 20th 2007 12:31PM
It's hard to say whether it's better half-life 2. They're both very different games.Half life 2 was more linear while Bioshock is more focused around a hub system.
I guess hl2 has more going for it in the sense of characters you interact with and meet. But they both have pro's and cons. But I suppose there is no real reason not to play this.
joevill @ Aug 20th 2007 9:09AM
How many of you are going to be picking up BioShock? If so which version are you going to get?
FrankTheCrank @ Aug 20th 2007 9:11AM
I'm picking up the PC version. I already have Steam and I don't have a 360, yet. Still waiting for the Falcon to land.
Matt B @ Aug 20th 2007 9:21AM
PC
I'll be downloading and trying the demo today ti see how it runs on my rig. I'll buy it if it runs. i won't if it don't.
bounchfx @ Aug 20th 2007 9:25AM
gonna grab the LE.. had it pre ordered for a while, now I just gotta get there when the store opens because I want to make sure I get my copy XD (considering they took too many orders supposivly).
Cherry May @ Aug 20th 2007 9:32AM
360 version here. My PC is pretty decent, but nevertheless, it still struggles on high graphic settings.
I tend to prefer guaranteed framerates, minimal load times, graphic quality and compatibility... though I also have a HDTV for my 360, which could definitely change my perspective on things. I likely would have preferred a PC version if I didn't have a sharp resolution on my 360.
Either way, I guess it all depends on what hardware you've got, and whether you're into instant-compatibility and no installation issues like I am.
Blazur @ Aug 20th 2007 10:22AM
Trying out the PC demo tonight. If it runs ok on my comp I'll purchase the PC version at lunch tomorrow. I'm psyched!
josh @ Aug 20th 2007 2:13PM
is your icon an upside down penis with a crown on its head? yeah anyways, wouldn't it be more of a rent since it's only about 15-20 hours?
megaStryke @ Aug 20th 2007 9:23AM
Heeeeey! I Spy Funhouse! I think I played that on the Mac at the Apple Store! Hot shit!
nikiwu @ Aug 20th 2007 9:41AM
Thank god Bioshock is also getting release here in Australia this week (we get it on Friday). I can't wait to play it!
we're still waiting for Super Paper Mario (late Sept.).
deaftly @ Aug 20th 2007 9:50AM
ill be picking up the 360 version just because id rather play on my hdtv and relax on the couch while playing this amazing game
TxdoHawk @ Aug 20th 2007 10:44AM
Personally, I'm all giddy about the Skate demo. Bioshock looks absolutely awesome, but I have trouble justifying $60 for games with no long-standing replay value, and I have too much to buy over the next few months already. =x I'll save it for winter, or maybe early 2008.
Burritoclock @ Aug 20th 2007 11:54AM
I love having money, $60 for 15 to 20 hours of entertainment is not a bad deal, and that assumes you only play through once for one ending. The average theater will charge you 7 or 8 an hour with a DVD going somewhere around there too. It's all relative.
John Higginson @ Aug 20th 2007 10:29AM
Got my LE Bioshock pre-ordered......Can't wait to have Mr. Bubbles lookin out for the bad guys on my computer desk....gonna be sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Rubang B @ Aug 20th 2007 10:43AM
I don't mean to be a dick, but that earlier commenter was right. Brain Age 2 will smoke every other game this week. Brain Training (the Japanese title) sold 3.7 million in Japan and sold 8.61 million worldwide (more than any FPS evarr!). More Brain Training has already sold 4.75 million in Japan, so unless it flops in either Europe or the States (or both), it's on track to break 9 or 10 million. I mean, the game comes with Dr Mario, which as we all know sold 5.34 million on the Game Boy and THEN another 4.85 million on the NES!
And as a disclaimer, I'm kinda sick of FPS games anyway, so I'm kind of not interested unless it's Doom or Half-Life related, so sue me. So I'm sure this game kicks all kinds of ass, and it might be the most important FPS game to come out in years, but this week will go down in history as Brain Age 2 week.
Speaking of my FPS likes and dislikes and brain ages and games, let's play a game. My favorite FPS games were Wolfenstein 3-D, Doom, Doom 2, Quake, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Half-Life, CounterStrike, and Half-Life 2. I never got into Halo or any console FPS since Perfect Dark because once I played Counterstrike I couldn't take console FPSing seriously ever again. Can you guess how old I am?
Word of the street. @ Aug 20th 2007 11:25AM
Woa woa stop right there. Brain age 2 includes Dr.Mario?,please tell me it has wi-fi and I'm sold.
I never liked Brain Age 1 as a Ds owner, I mean what was so great about it?, It was homework made fun or something. I rather buy Mario March of the Minis instead yet Dr. Mario is freaking awesome, I might check 2 just for that.
BTW I also think the same about console FPS like Halo (But not Bioshock, The Darkness or Condemned),I mean Gears of war is great but with the lack of maps is kind of boring in multiplayer, it was sweet in single player but in multiplayer the lack of maps and hell that Seriously achievement, playing it is more like a chore. I rather play Darkness in multiplayer I mean the Achievements are hard but realistic.
Halo my problem is that well jumping around to take cover is kind of idiotic and it seems the halo community is full of morons, not all of them but an important amount to make you hate it in multiplayer for example some idiot was killing me because I didn’t knew the map as well as him and he was insulting everyone he kills including me, I had it and I challenge him to Counter Strike. The result was that I beat the crap out of him in CS,so basically the people that are good in Halo suck at Counter Strike.
Is so sad but I had to uninstall CS and Neverwinter Nights two games that I were good at ok that might be not true, I was mediocre in CS but I PWN in Neverwinter since both took to much of my time, like 5 hours each. Good times.
Ed @ Aug 20th 2007 11:35AM
12
umm...hello?? @ Aug 20th 2007 11:47AM
Rubang-
I'd guess you're about 31-34yrs old? You really should give Halo a try (nevermind the multiplayer--although quite a few of the original game's maps are better than Halo2 multiplayer maps, and unfortunately only available splitscreen or systemlinked (no xbl multiplayer). Sure it's not the best, but it has lots of innovation and there's nothing like sticking a Grunt with a plasma grenade and hearing it shriek "not again!".
Anyways, onto this week's BioShock: yes, am getting this game for x360, not only to play on my HDTV from comfort of my sofa but also my computer wouldn't be able to handle the pc version.
Reiteration: CircuitCity has both versions for $10 less ($40 for computer, $50 for x360)--so if you pay $60 for the x360 version you've paid too much!!!
Rubang B @ Aug 20th 2007 10:05PM
I don't know if it has wi-fi. All I know is that it has many more games than Brain Age 1, and that now it has a brain relaxation mode, to relax after all your intense training, and it's Dr. Mario but with Dr. Kawashima standing in. And I'm only 24.
Andrew Yoon @ Aug 20th 2007 10:44AM
I CANNOT WAIT FOR BIOSHOCK.
Half Life fans take heed--this is what you've been waiting for (not Episode 2, sorry). The atmosphere, presentation, graphics, gameplay -- they're all incredible.
Word of the street. @ Aug 20th 2007 11:06AM
That was the same thing I thought when I finished the Demo.
Jay @ Aug 20th 2007 10:58AM
Hey, don't forget Jeanne D'Arc -- I played the demo, and it was pretty good, for you SRPG fans. I can't wait! The reviews for it have been great, too.
Oh, and, yeah, I have the BioShock LE paid off, too :)
