Call of Duty 4 beta registration starts today

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is about to start its public beta test on Xbox Live, an engagement that has Xbox 360 owners volunteering their gamertags and repeatedly running into a hail of online bullets for the sake of research. According to an Infinity Ward posting on the official forum (registration required), information on the sign-up process will be posted on the Charlie Oscar Delta site today at 5PM PST.

The message notes that the program will roll out in several waves -- the first to be drafted could be playing the World War Now shooter as early as tonight. Read our impressions of the game's multiplayer aspects if you're not convinced this CoD is worth reeling in.

Can anybody confirm if this is a strictly US beta release or worldwide? Today's release that is.

From the website: "Initially, in order to get underway we'll be rolling-out in the United States. As soon as we're able to confirm which other countries are good to go we'll be back to update everybody"

Stranger still I had to register as MechaGimbal because some freak show already took the name Gimbal. I mean, who the hell uses a name like Gimbal anyway...

Same problem for me Gimbal. I don't think it is Hotmail that is the problem. Guess we shouldn't have waited till the last minute to try and register. :-(

I should have clarified in my last post that I am not using Hotmail and still haven't received my confirmation email either.

i registered with no problem but this scares me

Perhaps you did not see that the Beta is US only for now.

No PC beta = another teaspoon of fail unto the Call of Duty series.

i had to actually change my clock to pacific time so i can get this down perfectly.

...then i realized if i just added two hours to eastern time i wouldnt have to...

it's subtract 3 from eastern to obtain the pacific time...

This couldn't come at a better time since im selling this dam bioshock limited edition and cant play it anyways...hope too be killing some of you tonight on it.
