The video above is straight-up b-roll for those who just like to look at pretty pictures. After the break there's a marketing video with Will Wright and a bunch of the Spore development team talking about things we're sick of hearing about and just want to experience for ourselves. This slow evolution of Spore is getting tiresome, we hope this game poodoos or gets off the planet this decade.
Another Spore video for another convention

A game this complicated and unique deserves a bit of patience. Would you rather not have this game at all?

Yes, I would rather not have the game at all. This game is soon to be the most prolonged overhype ever.
I've played many, many sims in my day but I just can't stretch my imagination far enough to find any compelling gameplay scenarios for this.
Does anyone know more about the objectives and does anyone have more optimism that the gameplay will be there? Please describe, I'm open. But so far, Spore looks... boring, as neat as the technology seems.

i'm still waiting for it to come out. whenever that is, i'll watch these videos and see if I wanna buy it. no point anticipating a title that isn't out yet

At least there's a Will Wright (Maxis) game to look foward to. EA ruined our dreams of Sim City 5 with the piece of crap Societies.

Homo sapiens evolved from ape-like ancestors faster than this game's dev time.

B-roll? I think the word you're looking for here is "gameplay". Yeah, the wait is long, but these videos have me excited all over again---this is a lot more gameplay than we've seen before, and it still looks really promising.
A long wait is a drag when you're not sure if the game's ever coming (like, say, Sadness), but in this case, it just means they're actually testing this incredibly ambitious game. Cool your jets, boys!

Is it me, or did the cell stage look far more realistic and interesting before they "Nintendod" it up? It was fluid and had weight to is. That cell stage just looked like something you'd get in a flash game.

I guess everyone has a different sense of "interesting".

I really do not like this new cartoony version.
It definitely looks like some stupid flash game or XBLA game.
I want a realistic-looking game, not a bright and flashy kids game.

The E3 2006 version definately looked more interesting. The "cartoonish" setting is not as fitting, in my opinion. Although i do suspect it will sell to a wider audience while looking disneyfied.

This, Fallout 3, and Baldur's Gate 2 are the three games I've most been looking forward to prior to release. BG2 was great, and this one's up to bat.
Looks incredible. Fallout 3, you're on deck.
