LGC07: Buzz! Quiz TV for PS3 coming to Europe in March
Sony is bringing its popular (in Europe, at least) quiz series Buzz! to the PlayStation 3 with Buzz! Quiz TV, set for release in March 2008. The game sports 5,000 questions over five channels: Music, Movies and TV, Sports, Knowledge and The Lifestyle Channel. And, of course, high-definition graphics.Downloadable Quiz packs will also be released via the PlayStation Store. According to the press release, "Many will be specific to individual countries or even towns – just imagine playing a quiz on your local football team, for example." You can also create your own quizzes and upload them online via MyBuzz community site for others to play and rate.
Online multiplayer is done "Sofa vs. Sofa," according to Sony. Up to four couches can take each other on to see who knows the most trivia -- any higher than four and it screws up the online Feng Shui.
Buzz! Quiz TV is due out in March for Europe. No word yet on a release in other territories.

I can hardly contain my excitement....
This is hardcore gaming?
JL @ Aug 22nd 2007 2:41PM
No, this is casual gaming. Where did they say that it was hardcore? I always thought Sony was trying to reach everyone....
kinshadow @ Aug 22nd 2007 1:56PM
Sony should stop copying Microsoft.... errrr, wait...
Serriously, Scene It has much better name recognition in the US. Did Buzz ever come out in the US? Do they sell Scene It in Europe?

Noooooooooooo, this is one of my favourite drunken games to play with my friends. I will not shell out £425 just to play the next version. I'm not happy about singstar moving to the ps3 either.

Curmeo just called someone else a troll! I think the universe might just implode now!

@megaStryke:
Only if he divides by zero, as well.
Radicoon @ Aug 22nd 2007 2:08PM
Part of me just giggles when I see the petty competition back and forth.
Koopaknight29 @ Aug 22nd 2007 2:13PM
Does the guy in the picture remind anybody else of the muppets, only 3 times creepier?
BPM @ Aug 22nd 2007 2:34PM
My thoughts exact.
dyer @ Aug 22nd 2007 2:22PM
A Jerry Springer muppet is what that looks like...

Monkey see, Monkey do...
MS does Scene-It so of course Sony has to pull out their wee wee for a pee pee contest.
Right down to the new controller as well..
No thanks.

"Right down to the new controller as well."
Got the copying backwards this time at least. Buzz was out in Europe with that style controller long before the 360 panicked and tried to reach out to casual gamers.
loungemonkey @ Aug 22nd 2007 3:21PM
Do some research before you spout out gibberish.
NintendoFanbot @ Aug 22nd 2007 3:43PM
ITS NINTENDOS FAULT
Best of luck to Sony's new endeavor if they really mean it though.
Guybrush Threepwood @ Aug 22nd 2007 11:39PM
The first Buzz game was released long before the Wii was released.
Skor @ Aug 22nd 2007 11:58PM
For some odd reason, I feel like I've SCENE this before...
Hmmm...
A remote control shaped game controller with four different colored buttons to participate in a quiz-style game. Maybe I dreamed it.
