Diddy Kong joins Smash Bros. Brawl roster

If you've ever wanted to physically assault Donkey Kong's diminutive and overly cheery pal, Diddy Kong, you'd best make plans to purchase Super Smash Bros. Brawl on December 3rd. Smash Bros. DOJO!! (it's them shouting, not us) has revealed that the pesky primate will be part of the growing list of combatants and plans to get by with his "whimsical fighting moves" and "Peanut Pop Gun."

We look forward to knocking off that cap and wiping the smile off his face -- it'll certainly put one on ours. Alright Nintendo, let's get Tingle in here next.

I like this idea.

It's nice to see some more DK characters. Be nice if they made DK a bit faster and threw in that big fat strong guy (never played the game but I'm sure he exists) so you'd have a nice little spectrum of monkies to play as.

That big mofo King K Rule (again, never played the game!) should be in there. I will also cry and throw fits of rage all over Youtube if DeDeDe isn't at least a non-playable boss.

There have been quite a few new character announcements over the past month or so.

If they can make each character significantly different, which is definitely possible with Smash's fighting engine, then why not 60 characters?

first of all, definately pick up that rom of dk 64, its awesome, second the characters in dk 64 were donkey kong, diddy kong, Tiny Kong, Lanky Kong, Chunky, and the rhino and fish

I actually found DK 64 to be mostly a chore. Too much of a boring collect fest, even for me, and this is from someone who liked the Banjo-Kazooie games >_>

I don't understand those that sulk when they hear of a new character announced. It's as if, simply because they themselves did not think of the character's inclusion, they just hate on him. Suddenly the roster is too big. I mean, come on; this game is going to be cloneless. Ergo, the developers have put a ridiculous amount of time and polish into it. These aren't a lot of characters that are barely touched stencils of one another; they're classics that have been implemented with balance and likeness in mind. The more the better; i can't see the developers going wrong on the characters they decide.

Just think how long it will take to beat singleplayer with all the characters!

I like Diddy Kong.

I like him too. If they give him fast, acrobatic moves, he should be fun to play too, like a young link/sheik mix or something.

Diddy Kong = awesome.

Though honestly I think it would be more realistic if he would throw feces instead of shoot peanuts.

What if his feces has peanuts in it? I feel that would make a nice compromise.
