PES is great, no doubts there... but it's nice to see EA making a bigger, better attempt at snagging those on the fence(like myself)on buying FIFA. I'll highly consider it moreso knowing it's 60fps... unlike Madden(which I still claim it was deliberately made better on X360 than PS3).

As for EA's over-mentioning of PS3 compared to X360... that's most likely due to all the "PlayStation3" ads seen during the "futbol" games.

Oh... and... *ahem* Go Manchester United! >:D

I was a big Pro Evo fan before last years embarrassing port. Fifa 07 wasn't good on the 360 either. The PC version, however, was completely different and played better (passes and crosses) than all of them.

No need to be shy in supporting United. Come on Sir Alex... Let's get it together and bring it to Chelsea!

While I'm not a fan of SportsTitle++ games, this does sound more of an improvement over last years title, unlike Madden.

It's about time a sports game was more than 1 v 1.

This is big. And so is the 3 vs. 3 online coop in NHL 08.

I've never understood why in a team sport video game, you can't play as a team online. It's not like the online gaming services are any better at it now than 3 - 5 years ago.

these games are always ultimately designed to be a 1 player or 1v1 experiences. me and my friends would have 2v2 winning eleven games all the time. it was great fun, but whenever it was 2v1, the 1-player team almost always won. it seems like team dynamics are best reserved for fps, rts, mmorpg.

plus, consider the n00b concept. in an fps, for example, having noobs on your team makes your team suck a little more, but has relatively little bearing on how well you play yourself (sure you will lose more games, and might die a little more, but it's not impossibly frustrating). rts, similar concept--you are still in control of yourself and your city/civ/whatever.

now, throw that noob on your soccer team. all of a sudden, its 10 v 11-- a pretty big difference. 2 noobs and its basically 9 v 11, plus its worse than having 2 players off the field--you may want to actively avoid those noobs for fear of them making a critical mistake. and it only takes a few mistakes to lose a game--frustrating. the computer may be more predictable and dull, but its also a lot more dependable.

Not to start a flame fest or anything, but I could have swore that "If you want to play any soccer game, you'll need to have a 360.". Whatever happened to that? I thought Microsoft locked down every Soccer franchise except one from Konami to be 360 exclusive?

I'd say it's the opposite(of Xbox & PS), actually. Soccer/football has been running big on PlayStation... for years now. Hell, it's just now on a lot of ads in the background borders of matches; but it's been the developer/publisher keeping it on that platform(and occasionally venturing out from there)than Sony's influence... which started in PES5 console wise, I think.

Oh, and for those who didn't pick up on it PES=Pro Evolution Soccer.

I'm happy I don't have to pull my reservation for the PS3 version. Should be a nice diversion before Winning Eleven: PES 2008 drops in Feb.

this is big..an excellent piece of football video games..and i think there is nothing bad to say about fifa07..except that it needed more development and some sort of concertnation on the manager mode..more financial details..more contact with the (board)and after i saw fifa07 i gurantee that fifa08 will be amazing...
