Before showing off
Metal Gear Solid 4 live for the first time outside of Japan, Kojima-san got up in front of the entire Konami press conference in Leipzig and had a bit of a heart-to-heart with the audience. In English. He said that despite his busy schedule he was very happy to be back at the Game Conference here in Germany. Along with E3 and the Tokyo Game Show, he considers the Leipzig convention to be a central show for the industry.
His love for Europe doesn't stop there. Kojima-san went over to lament the fact that games are constantly
released late over here. He is determined to make
Metal Gear Solid 4 a simultaneous worldwide release for all regions, Japan, the US and Europe. There's more
Metal Gear Solid news to come tomorrow when Kojima-san hosts a separate press conference himself. We'll be there to let you know what's new.

Websites will run amok with how the story ends like everyone ruining how Harry Potter ends. They do it all the time already with previous titles and other story based games like Final Fantasy and Silent Hill.
I mean, I already know how MGS4 ends. Snake kills Voldemort with CQC. Mission Accomplished.

"What is it, Harry?"
"Do you think love can blossom, even on the Quidditch field?"
"If we can beat Slytherin, I'll let you know."

... WHAT is the fault of Sony and Nintendo?
As for the article... much applause to Kojima's efforts. I *eagerly* await MGS4!
...okay, but you had mentioned Nintendo/Sony directly(to which two of us questioned why), but then went on to use Microsoft's Xbox 360 as an example; which is a shred confusing. If you're referring to international release date delays, that's been going on in media(not just videogaming)for years-upon-decades now. Though I've yet to see any substantial reason or formal investigation on why... I'd assume the delay is simply either language, region, or audio/visual encoding & dubbing as the reason why there's a delay. The North America areas don't feature nearly as many languages and encoding to deal with; since the 3 majority languages here are English, Spanish, and French. Elsewhere, it could be upwards of 7-10 different types to deal with... and that's just spoken word. There's text, various international regulations, and who knows what other hurdles to clear.

It just seems like they would be delaying the other versions.

Although after saying that, I can't help but get the feeling that a simultaneous world wide release would certainly give the media something to put in headlines...something along the lines of "First day sales shatter records" or some such. When in reality, it's been released everywhere on the same day...
Call me cinical...but I smell marketing. Although after having played all of the Metal Gear games, and my previous favorite game being SNATCHER, I'd like to think Kojima is above that and IS truly trying to bring it to all territories so no one feels left behind.
