In my opinion, the only must-have games in the Art of Fighting/Fatal Fury series are Art of Fighting 2, AoF3, Real Bout Special, Real Bout 2, and Garou.

Of course, being the kind of person I am, I have them all. And all the KoFs. And both last blades. However, I've yet to aquire Samurai Spirits 0 and 0 Special. Perhaps there is hope for me yet.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves Rules! 2-D forever!

Too bad i won't be buying it. I already have the ROM, so there's no need to buy this game. The ROM plays perfect on my PC.

Why does this thing's free line up almost totally kick XBLA and the PSN's ass? That's lame.

It's all psychological..... You yell "Barracuda", everybody says, "Huh? What?". You yell "shark"..... And we've got a panic on our hands on the 4th of July.

Had to get my Jaws quote in....

Wait, what? Falls apart under competitive play? Have you ever even PLAYED Garou? 2k3 isn't that unbalanced either. I'm really confused on where you guys get this stuff.

Eggman, have you ever seen anybody good with Duo Lon play KoF2k3? It's a massacre. 2k3 is a fun game for sure, but in tournaments pretty much everyone picks Goro for his LDM, K Dash for just being damned good, and Duo Lon for just being a fast as hell and having ridiculous mix up capabilities. On occasion you'll see certain high tier characters like Ash find their way on to a team, but usually no.

2k3, 'tis not well balanced. Mark of the Wolves on the other hand is one of SNK's better balanced games.

Kevin is a beast, but the balance in the game has often been compared to Third Strike. There are characters that are obviously tough shit, but most of the characters in the game have at least something going for them that they can use competitively.

Basically, if you pit Kevin versus Marco, it's not going to be a slaughter, but it's still going to be tough. Same as can be said for pitting Yun against Makato.

It doesn't really SOUND balanced to someone that doesn't play competitively, but a perfectly balanced fighter pretty much doesn't exist, and Mark of the Wolves actually holds up pretty well.

Enemy engaged, and the other, interconnectable games, were pretty awesome helicopter sims.

Graphics probably suck now, but they were pretty good.
that said, i picked them all up for about $5 about 5 years ago...

I played Jaws. At first I thought it was God awful, but then I changed the camera to "chase mode" or whatever which really made the game leaps and bounds better.

But then I got captured, and when I tried to escape 5-6 times I died every time by like ten guys with shotguns. So I got bored and quit.

Haven't played any of the other games though. The desire to knaw on human flesh was just too much to resist... mmmm... human fleeessshhh...
