Heh, I only played the demo for Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, and I only ONCE was able to live long enough to see the demo countdown reach zero.

Green squares, yes, indeed a worth adversary, but those damned butterflies were the worst. They seemed to be made out of some metallic substance, like some sort of iron butterfly.

Well it's nice to see Bizarre say that since the GW sequel isn't that much different it won't be on XBLA but I wouldn't mind a demo.

God I love Geometry Wars. Can't wait for the new one. I've played the first game more often than the full $60 dollar games I own. A $5 game beating out a $60 is quite a feat. IMO

Top Score: 6 million-ish

I love Geometry Wars, despite not being all that great. Top score only at like 290,000 or so. But it's a kickback to the old days of simple mechanics that is hard enough to keep you coming, but simple enough to be enjoyable.

To be honest I would have quite happily paid full price (£40 here in the UK) for Geometry Wars. I have played that game more than any other on the 360 and it is among the best on the console. If 'waves' is half as good it will be an excellent bonus.

The subtitle 'waves' makes me think its going to be some sort of level based variant on Retro Evolved, I'm not sure how I would feel about that, but hey it's free.

They could charge me my right nut for Geometry Wars and I would still buy it.
