And so we all laughed, cracked open a few beers and watched some American football. According the top ten in software sales (presented after the break), a good deal of gamers appreciate the sport. Despite having access to a considerably smaller user base than the PS2, the Xbox 360 version of NCAA Football 08 reigned supreme, no doubt thanks to the system's magical attach rate.

They are monthly sales, which means June has 30 days and July has 31.
31>30
July had one more day of sales in that figure.
Nothing to do with weeks. MONTHLY sales, M-O-N-T-H-L-Y

You're such a looser PS3 troll. MS has already stated that half of 360 owners were not xbox owners. Half my friends have already preordered Halo 3, but will be picking up their 360 in September, because they have kept on playing Halo 2 on the xbox.
but..but..teh pow3r of teh cell..but...
You're pathetic.
It seems.

It's a LAST generation machine, thus it's competing against the likes of Xbox, PS2 and it's fat cousin the Cube.
Xbox360 and PS3 are THIS generation machines.
I know it must hurt. It's only a games system after all just buy one!
That's kind of like saying that a scrawny kid doesn't count as part of this generation of children. The word "generation" only implies the general time period in which it was a part of, it doesn't imply that it is of equal quality as other members of said generation.
If someone said "the Wii is the winner of the HD console war," then you would have a point.
Yes, but the person you originally quoted wasn't talking about technological generations and I'm pretty sure you know it. Just admit that you have no point.
This is the Internet... no one does.
Good point.
i was referring to james' comment, not yours.
sorry for the confusion
Either way. Yes I own all consoles (cept a PSP which I sold on), but I care about sales figures as devs start to realise they can't take the success of the Wii lightly. If they want to make a nice little profit a game on the Wii (since, on average they're cheaper to produce for anyways) makes sense.
It's also a bit amazing to see a company's console system in a critical situation - to suddenly jump to an unarguable first.
It's likely that MS will get a much larger (by 15% or so) slice of the install base pie this gen.

Mini games are for the XBOX live arcade. $5 not $50. Even if you do get to swing your wand like a tard. Before you get your panties in a bunch understand that I'm asking you Joystiq readers who should be pretty hard core gamers. I know why old people and kids like it. I wonder why you guys do... Please enlighten me.
Thanks
I bought a Wii in July.
I would of bought one earlier but could never find one.
Well I still enjoy Wii Sports with some friends every once in a while. I played through Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario. Granted they are both GC at heart but TP is much better on Wii due to the controls. Madden and Tiger Woods are fantastic. Graphics suck (not much better than PS2) but the controls make the game new and exciting :) SSX Blur and Mario Strikers Charged are impressive on the Wii. I also have a few GC games that I bought for cheap and there's always a good VC download. LttP and Super Metroid deserved another run through.
Yes, I'm a 'hardcore gamer', though I hate that term. I own a 360 and play it regularly too. But the Wii is in a different league. Graphics are many times disappointing, and I sometimes find myself deciding between the 360 and Wii version based on graphics versus controls+features. Madden on the 360 is gorgeous and has much better online, but I got it for the Wii because of the controls that make the game pick up and play for anyone.
It boils down to this: if I want to lock myself in my room and play into the night, I turn on the 360. If I want to bring some friends in and play for a few hours or if I want to play one of Nintendo's franchises, I turn on the Wii. I don't think the Wii is perfect for hardcore gamers by itself. It's just missing too much. But it is a fantastic complement to the 360 (or PS3 if that's your choice).
For the record, not one $50 game I own is centered around minigames. Madden has them, but they are just the training drills and they are actually a hell of a lot of fun with a few friends.
