Today in Joystiq: August 23, 2007
This is the top half of a magazine ad for the Super Nintendo version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time. Check out t0kka's Flickr account for the rest of the print, with such awesome text as this: "Check it out, dudes. Arcade screenage on the left, Super NES screenage on the right. They're like, turtley the same! Aren't those studs at Konami awesome!" Check out the highlights for today:

So having arcade quality graphics are quite an achievement in the SNES days?
Well, someone might want to inform Midway those days are long over (See Cruis'n, Wii).
rokerovakero @ Aug 24th 2007 3:48AM
that wasn't necessary... LOL!
Guybrush Threepwood @ Aug 24th 2007 12:24AM
Turtles in Time for the Super Nintendo owned.
That was probably the first arcade port that was better than the actual arcade game.
Or am I forgetting a game or two?

It is physically impossible for a Ninja to be a Pirate, and vice versa.
Shig @ Aug 24th 2007 1:32AM
That rule doesn't apply to the TMNT.
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 24th 2007 1:48AM
Ninja pirates wore eye patches for night vision.
colin @ Aug 24th 2007 6:08AM
@ hvnlysoldr, i have seen you say that a lot ... can it rest?
on another note, some buds and i were kinda wasted last weekend and started a 4 hour long conversation about ninja turtles vs. xmen ... then we kinda figured that they are one and the same.
dynamic characters =
Raphael:Wolverine::Leonardo:Cyclops
put that in your SAT pipe and smoke it.
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 24th 2007 7:12AM
Colin must be a pirate for not wanting me to reveal the advantage they have.
Charles @ Aug 24th 2007 7:36AM
I reject your reality and substitute my own

When I read this ad in my mind, it's as if Keanu Reeves' voice is reading it.
Most excellent!
Winman2000 @ Aug 24th 2007 2:34AM
Even the turtles get in trouble.
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 24th 2007 2:13AM
Whenever I use pawns I fully intend them. There's nothing worse than punning something only to try getting it back when the Shifit Guy sales it to sum pore sole.
Kye @ Aug 24th 2007 3:46AM
I was just thinking;
There's a cowboy, robot and pirate, all we need now is a ninj... oh wait.
Charles @ Aug 24th 2007 7:42AM
You're forgetting Donatello as a caveman
T3H WICKERMAN @ Aug 24th 2007 9:26AM
Joystiq u cocktease. xbla, psn,vc release soon or what?
GRANTED @ Aug 24th 2007 10:17AM
hahaha
your mission is "to find april o'neil (schwing!)"
god i really used to talk like that.
GlazedDonut2186 @ Aug 24th 2007 10:52AM
Wait wait wait. Why the hell is DONATELLO a caveman? If anything, he should be the astronaut. Sorry, that just kinda rubs me the wrong way.
Donatello is my favorite turtle by far.
Kree @ Aug 24th 2007 9:08PM
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how out of place his outfit was.
