Are you just covering PAX 07? Sounds interesting.

"When you create your character, not only are you making the 3D model, but your avatar will also be matched in the 2D cutscenes, and given the art direction on both, they are easily identified as the same person."

Really? How the hell does that work?

That wouldn't be too hard.

This game is gonna rock. It's true as well, your character carries through all the cutscenese, probably because they are rendered realtime. I'm really looking forward to the story, as this is guaranteed to have some great writing...

This game should have been a 2D point-and-click adventure like Monkey Island or something.

If this ends up working on my Late '04 iBook, I will declare Hothead one of the greatest studios of all time.

Ha! Sadly, the specs are quite bad:

PowerPC G4, 1.33 GHz
1.25 GB PC2100 DDR266 RAM
ATi Mobility Radeon 9200, 32 MB RAM

whoops. Got cut off. Foolish me.

Mac OS 10.4.10

This thing doesn't even support Core Video, I'm honestly not expecting miracles. Anything more than WoW is pretty much off limits.

In fact, I'd rather wait a (hopefully) short period of time and play a smooth, optimized version on my 360 than a stuttering mess on my "It's a good thing I bought you for writing, not multimedia" iBook.

Well sign me up! That's actually really cool that your 3D character appears in the 2D cutscenes.

Btw, there's a lot of typos in this article.

Yeah, this is my first Joystiq post, though I've been writing at X3F since January.

This looked good when I saw it being played on Gamespot a couple of days ago. The only strong concern I had was with the spacebar to block thing. Things like that are only included if the developer intends you to use them to progress, but doing so, I think, would make things too easy, perhaps? I'd prefer to see some sort of limiting factor introduced to lessen how often you can use the technique.
