Get your Call of Duty 4 public beta invite today

Like a jilted lover on a drunken binge, duty is calling for the fourth time. Unlike that ex-bf/gf though, you might want to answer the call, as it may just be your entry into the Call of Duty 4 multiplayer beta. The first round of invites will be sent out at 12 p.m. PDT today on a first-come, first-served basis to those who activate the link found here. You'll also have to answer three Call of Duty trivia questions. Yeah, go figure.

This round is just for players in the United States, but international players can take heart. Infinity Ward has announced that the beta will also be available in Canada, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Details will be announced soon, so keep an eye on the site for more details.

i hated call of duty 3 so its going to be hard to get me interested in this

CoD3 was created by different developers than CoD2. CoD4 is by the same developers that did CoD2. I don't know if you played CoD2, but it was indeed much better than 3.

im not saying im completely turned off to the series, just that i need to see more of this or try it before i buy it

I thought the first round was 2 weeks ago, atleast thats when I got my invite, I know others on here did also. Excellent game, if your even slightly interested you should try to get in and check it out. The search and destroy matches are damn fun.

I started playing this yesterday (I got an early beta), and it's fantastic. You guys will love it.

Ive had issues with their web page for weeks. I tried to sign up when this was first anounced and the web link kept saying there was a messed up link on their page. When I click to resend my registration email i get the same bs. To bad since i love the COD games. Oh well.

Call of Duty 3 wasn't developed by Infinity Ward so a lot of people ended up hating it

yah, me too. It originally gave me an error message when i clicked the link to send me a comfirmation email. now it tells me the email has been sent, and has been telling me the last 8 times i tried since yesterday, but the email never sends. what gives?

Is that warfare SO modern?

Like others, I've been trying to sign up for about a week or two. I've kept "resending" my confirmation email and have yet to receive anything. I even emailed the "help" regarding the matter to no avail. I really wanted to get in on this beta too...

Get used to seeing this site down all day.

I didn't like it last night when I was playing it, but I stuck it on again this afternoon, and it's awesome. Shame it doesn't have the visuals we've seen in videos etc so far (bit like the Halo beta, I suppose) :(

Hard to get a full game going when there's so few people playing at the moment. Some modes have less than 100 people in them, so looking forward to more people getting it tonight :)

Okay...so I finally got the registration to accept..but still no luck with email confirmation link.
If CoD4 plays anything like the site works.....It is gonna SUCK the Big One

I've been playing it for about a week now and it's really fun! I hope they raise the level cap after this wave because over 95% of the people are level 11!

Hey guys, I got in the Beta without sending any of those e-mails in I am just a member of the COD4 website, CharlieDeltaOscar.com or whatever the URL is and they sent me the download code yesterday randomly so maybe being a member of the website somehow qualifies you to get into the Beta, downloaded it yesterday haven't had a chance to play it yet because of the g/f but tonight I should get in 3-4 good hours, good luck getting in everyone

40 minutes till and already the site is giving MySql errors and "Too many connections" errors. This is going to be a catastrophe.

Well I jumped thru the stupid hoops for the FirstWave and never received an email after wasting 2 hours with all the web page problems.

Now I see by clinking on the link in this post that it's happening once again.. FORGET IT! I really want to be a part of this beta but I do not enjoy being jerked around with crappy web hosting that can't support this little beta jerk-off session..

well, I had the site loaded and everything, but it looks like the entire server is down. I don't know what type of crack these people are smoking, thinking that they would be able to pull this off without completly crashing the system

I've had it loaded since this morning, the official US time in one tab, wikipedia entry for the series in another, and the site itself.

yup, same here, was ready to press that button as soon as it was available. Well, I can ping their IP, but getting a response from the server is a no-go. They really need to strip all the flash and crap off their site so their servers can handle it.

well, it looks like all the beta tokens were taken, in 7 minutes while the site was down. This is bull. Screw this crap.

The Halo3 mp beta doesn't seem like such a cluster fuck right now. Good job Infinity Ward. And fuck you for making us answer questions. We are the people who will buy this game once it comes out douche bag(s).

i got to the beta page and not past the enter now button...but im trying to refresh the link that the enter now button goes to rather than the beta page...

Well, snazzy, I get "Charlie Oscar Delta" at the top of my browser and that's it.

I got through but all it did was give me "All the beta tokens have been reserved page"

WTF how could everyone have gotten them all if the server has been broken?
