Too bad Warhawk, Heavenly Sword and Lair suck.

I remember the Sony fanboys mentioning these games in their little lists like they were AAA titles, to which I replied, why put so much faith in unproven franchises?

And now, months later, it's obvious I was right.

Its because they are desperate for a good game these days. They shoulda bought a 360 haha. Anyways Im not buying anything this week, Bioshock is rockin my 360 right now and the Medal of Honor demo is on Live now and its awesome. EA did a great job on that and that was just the demo.

These games of course had potential to become great, like any new IP, I'm all for new IP's actually.

What I'm saying is they were massively overhyped and a lot of faith was put into them for really no reason.

The only ratings one should go by is their own. Plain and simple. You haven't played the game yet so you don't go. Try it out for yourself. I don't know why people go by other people's ratings, so stupid. Sometimes it's like listening to a rumor.

Wii and MS games seem to turn out as good as advertised while Sony games seem to be way overhyped. I feel kinda bad for any gamer that waited a year to get a PS3, only to wait another year for games that hold up to what is hitting other systems. I mean, once MGS4, FFXIII, GT5, and possibly others are out, all will be forgiven. But that is a hell of a long time to wait for next gen.

Perfect Dark Zero anyone? You are the worst form of hypocrite. A fanboy attacking other people when their own glaring problems show so readily. Personally I enjoyed PDZ but it was universally dumped on as the killer app that wasn't.

Yes, but PDZ was a launch title, which typically is given slack for being somewhat substandard.
These games aren't.

But still, you've gotta make up your own mind about what you like. My favorite game ever got a 3 on IGN.

Warhawk is great. PSM is just fvking stupid. I don't even know how they could properly review an online game when there is no one playing right now. The other two... yeah, sort of disappointing. Though apparently Lair was delayed to rework the flight controls, which was on of the biggest knocks against it in the early reviews. So it could end up being better. Either way, fortunately I'm more interested in R&C, Uncharted, and HSG5 anyway.

I'm not an "xbox owner" so there go your attacks people.

A game that last only about 7 hours and has no multiplayer is substandard by default. Especially when it's almost filled up by cutscenes and boring arena fights alone (talking HS here).

Sure to make a personal opinion you have to play the game, but I don't have 60 euros to blow on every freakin' game that comes out, and games getting bad reviews really don't persuade me to buy a 600 euro console.

If you jump off of a cliff you get a bucket of gold in mid air and fairies carry you to the ground where every woman in the world becomes your slave. But you only have an hour from the time you read this. Now go slaziman, go. PS, the genie said that 5 story or higher buildings also apply.

Since you are a person that believes everything you read go find that cliff.

Yeah the bad reviews are of course all a conspiracy against Sony right? And all the criticism they wrote are just fairy tales right? Who are you kidding? If any Joystiq commenter wrote "OMg guyz I pleh'd HS and it are sux!!!" of course I wouldn't believe it, but if a reputable source writes about it and gives details on what exactly is bad about the game, it's pretty believable.

I have to agree with the OP on Lair and only Lair. I was fortunate enough to play some of these upcoming games at Comic-Con and I must say that Lair sucks complete ass. Great graphics, cool dragons, new concept, but terrible gameplay.

As for Warhawk and Heavenly Sword, HS is a beautiful game with some sweet combat and Warhawk seems to be just another filler title until your next Ace Combat.

Of course, I recommend people actually rent these games before making a final judgement if the game really catches your eye.

And Metroid Prime 3 FTW =D

No, not really. But it's something different and if it works well, then hey...why not?

Of course, that's a big "if". It's hard to imagine how they could screw up a bowling game on the Wii, but they'd managed to mangle golf games, so nothing surprises me any more.

According to the the reviews I've seen popping up lately, Blue Dragon is really a hit or miss title. Shame, too, considering that the last Sakaguchi / Uematsu / Toriyama union was Chrono Trigger. Oh well. I still don't have a 360 yet, so I'll wait until I can read up on some consumer opinions.

yeah, I was kinda disappointed by the demo. Mine had major framerate issues that just ruined the experience. Plus it seemed uber complicated.

Eternal Sonata is a must buy. First RPG that gave me a warm fuzzy since I was 16.

Blue Dragon looks beautiful...but the game looks WAY TOO complicated as you said megastryke.

And its a shame too since it looks like the type of story I could get into. One that has substance and depth to it.

On the other hand the Eternal Sonata demo was AWESOME. Definitely buying that one.

I thought the giant robot trend went out with Power Rangers?

I guess it's still better than Dynasty Warriors 243,000: kill a whole bunch of unnamed asian sprites with your HUGE weapons.
