Pink Godzilla's presence at
PAX was one of the more drool-worthy booths at the show. In addition to piles and piles of
Dev Kit kits, PG t-shirts and stickers, the booth was
rife was classic and import games and consoles. If you were looking for a copy of
Face Training or
Doki Doki Majo Shinpan or even
Yume Penguin Monogatari at PAX, this was the destination. I personally had a PC Engine Coregrafx in my hand at least twice, desperately battling over whether or not to buy. I totally would have if stuff didn't cost
money. The most impressive (and expensive) items were on display in a glass case, and included things like
Toilet Kids, Dracula X and even a sealed
Super Metroid ($300).
I ran off with a Twin Famicom took a bunch of pictures of the booth, when I wasn't getting trampled.

What was that gold floppy disc?
JC Fletcher @ Aug 27th 2007 6:48PM
It's a Famicom Disk System Golf disk that Nintendo gave away as a prize in a high-score contest. Pretty sure. I mean, I know it's a gold FDS Golf disk.
Samuel McConnell @ Aug 27th 2007 7:02PM
Can you even find working FDS disks anymore? I thought about getting the Twin Famicom (or a Famicom and the FDS) but I couldn't think of a good reason why I should lay down the cash.
No doubt, though, the PG booth kicked ass.
JC Fletcher @ Aug 27th 2007 7:05PM
(Full disclosure: I was able to identify the disk at the show, but I checked Wikipedia to make sure it was a prize. Just to head off the 'lol u read wiki'.)

They used to have a copy of Radiant Silvergun in that case. I guess they sold it.
Vexorg @ Aug 28th 2007 12:35AM
If that Radiant Silvergun was still there (I think they actually had 2 at some point) I might have been half-tempted to buy it, since that was the game I originally bought an import Saturn for in the first place. Pink Godzilla is a pretty decent import store, although their prices can be a tad high. I make a point to stop in when there's some DS import I need to pick up.

I remember last year, walking past the Pink Godzilla stand took a lot of willpower. Looking at it this year would have taken even more

Those copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga were gone when I checked back on Sunday. The sealed copy was listed at $500!!! There were also sealed copies of Suikoden II and Tales of Destiny for $250 and $150, respectively. For SNES, there was a complete box set of Earthbound, though the price escapes me.
The entire time, the PG folks were pimping the Generation Nex, a 3rd party NES/Famicom for $50. A friend bought it and the NES carts are really hard to get in and out. No idea if that's the norm.
All in all, the PG booth was the same as the store: fun to look at, but the prices are high.
Phour ZwanZig @ Aug 27th 2007 10:52PM
Well, I notice the tags say "about" price.. Does this mean that they let ya barter?
Cuz $50 for an NES is a lil pricey I think.. Heck I have a SNES, Im selling it for "About" $100 - Any buyers... :)
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 27th 2007 7:51PM
Must resist PG joke. Argh my will is weak.
You've activated my trap card! 599USD!
J. Kyle @ Aug 27th 2007 7:56PM
I picked up Jump Ultimate Stars from PG's booth for $35, which is the cheapest I've seen it anywhere. I also got some of those swanky pixel art diorama thingies.

i outgrew anime :/
AbleJames @ Aug 27th 2007 8:23PM
Super Metroid is going for $300 now? Pretty decent. I'm gonna hold onto my sealed copy for now though--I still haven't decided if I want to open it and play it. =D
I'll leave it on the pile with my two unopened Sega CDXs, and about 12 sealed copies of Ocarina of Time that the local video store sold for $5 each when they went out of business...
GoldenS1104 @ Aug 27th 2007 8:55PM
Nice! Mickey Mania! That game owned. I still have it. I think I'm gunna go play it now...

why oh why did I trade in my NES for the N64..
I had a cart from a garage sale with 999 games on it, most were copies of each other, but damn it was great.

As a gamer in the Pacific Northwest Pinkgodzilla Games's shop in the Seattle International District is holy ground to me. I might as a well just sign my paycheck over to them via direct deposit. I have developed a bad Famicom collection habit because of them. Holy ground I tell you.

GROVER CLEVELAND @ Aug 27th 2007 10:19PM

To all you gamers visting Seattle Pink Godzilla is a temporary tempation. To us it is a constant threat to our bank accounts. There are many times that I am tempted to walk out with a Famicom Disk Drive or other retro gaming goodness. They do have an excelent website www.pinkgodzillagames.com and they do ship.
Vexorg @ Aug 28th 2007 12:37AM
There's been an Uwajimaya in Bellevue for pretty much as long as I've lived here (nearly 13 years now.)
BPM @ Aug 28th 2007 1:10AM
Oh, if only I had won the Power Ball last night... If I did, I'd probably fly out to where Pink Godzilla is and... well... buy just about all the awesome they sell. Because from the looks of these pictures, they have a lot of awesome.
BrentoBox @ Aug 28th 2007 2:45PM
Pink Godzilla is pretty amazing with just the shear volume of hard to find titles they have, but they also have a seriously bad habit of overpricing just about everything they sell.
It is like they charge extra for the service of providing almost anything you could be looking for. You will always be paying full if not more than full price for it though.
It looked like they brought more then half what's in the store down to PAX.
