Sure, you can pick up Warhawk tomorrow in stores, but if you want to save on the gasoline, the title will be available for download via the PlayStation store tonight at 12:01 a.m. EST. That's a bonus for West Coast gamers, who can get the game at 9:00 p.m. PST tonight.
Going the traditional route isn't a bad option, however, as the retail version is priced $20 more but includes more video content and a Bluetooth headset.

Probably a fair point, monkey. On some of the messages I see the reply option, but I don't see it on other messages. Can you help me to fix that?

It is more to reply in the same "topic"
So say you wanted to reply to Ninja....you would press the Reply button under your name and your response would be placed in that column..
I suck at verbally explaining things, so sorry if this doesnt help.

And I almost forgot why I never click on "Comments" anymore.... oh yeah, that's right.
Trolls.
Anyway, it's a demo. The graphics are not done. It's supposed to be a smallish demo. Geez. Whatever...

V, you asked me if I've played it or seen it running live, so I answered to you that I've done both. Very true that the former implies the latter, but keep in mind that it was you who put forth the question, not me. Candidly, I wasn't certain if you had the requisite brain power to make the distinction .... LOL.
All kidding aside, I played the game for about an hour. Got lucky and got to see it at a semi-private showing. I won't disclose to you where or in what capacity, and undoubtedly this will further drive your skepticism, but it's obviously of little consequence to me. Believe what you will, my friend.

Sorry, didn't mean to skip over your question concerning game play. Also, sorry for the responses being everywhere, as I'm just now figuring out how to reply to specific comments or "threads" on this site.
As for the particulars, I thought the ground combat was very weak. That was the game's foremost fault in the time I spent with it. I know the game is trying to be all things to all people (i.e. 3PS and air combat), but I felt like the ground combat was indicative of a cheap third person shooter. Repetitive, too. Almost like a poor borrowing from both Mercenaries and Halo, actually. Maybe more Mercs than Halo, but it wasn't done very well. How much ground combat was included with the beta?
The air combat was okay. Just okay. A poor borrowing from something like Crimson Skies, almost, especially with the turrets that are available on the ground. Environments were okay, but certainly nothing spectacular or anything you'd expect to see on either the PS3 or 360 game.
You may not realize this yet, but this game won't be well-received with the general public. Its pre-order numbers say as much, in fact. You did the beta and you like the game .... I get it. Enjoy!

OK, but you just keep saying things weren't done very well. In what way? Take ground combat for example... Too slow? Unbalanced weapons? What?
The beta pretty much had everything in it on one form or another. I actually spent most of my time with the ground combat. I mostly stuck with using tanks and the snipe rifle. I just used the Warhawks to get across the maps... since some of them are huge. Anyway, I thought the ground combat was fine. It's not crazy fast or feature a bunch of dodge moves like a game of UT or anything, but with the jeeps, tanks, turrets, and your standard compliments of weapons (pistol, rifle, sniper, flame thrower, grenades, proximity mines, etc...) there was certainly plenty to do.

Keep in mind that I only had an hour to play the game and have probably watched it for an additional 30 minutes between watching others play and the videos you can find on IGN or comparable sites. That said, you would agree that a game should be able to grab you in an hour, correct?
For whatever reason, Warhawk didn't grab me. The graphics aren't great and it looks like this game could run on the Wii. The gameplay is familiar and the things they borrow from other game (notably Mercs) aren't done as well as the games they borrow them from. I'd rather play Mercs when on foot and Halo 3 when I'm in a vehicle. I can't really think of a defining moment when I said I officially think this game is garbage, so my opinion is based more on the overall feel I got from the game and less from any one or two particular items. Hope that makes sense.
On a random note, this game has not done well with its pre-order numbers. Not at all. Maybe a ton of people are planning on going the download route, but I highly doubt it. Low (relatively speaking) scores for Heavenly Sword and potentially Lair may help it out in terms of sales dollars, but that remains to be seen.
Anyway, enjoyed the banter and enjoy the game!

With the PSN download speeds, you could easily buy it in stores tomorrow beyond the download is finished... That said, trying to sell this half-baked cash grab for full price is just sick.

Actually a lot of people were finished with their download within an hour.
A lot of people also enjoy this game thus far.
And no, you won't get it in stores before the download is up, cause 1, the downloaders are finished, and 2, the game won't be here until the 29th.
You fail at each of your trolling points.
you fail, please try again ^_^

Jake,
"The 360 has better games than the PS3. This is a fact. The 360 is getting better games than the PS3, also a fact considering Bioshock is great and Warhawk, Heavenly, and Lair are getting very meh reviews."
that is all subjective.
BF2 is one of my favorite fps'. I'm pretty sure i'll get a kick out of warhawk despite what someone's review is. I can think for myself.

Not to take jeremy's side, but I don't care for Ratchet games and didn't like Resistance. Then again, I hated Dead Rising with a passion, but loved RE 1-4; hated COD3, and loved COD2. Lost Planet was the worst $60 I've spent this gen, and I bought a Madden game!
My guess is that jeremy's hate is pure fanboyism and my hate is basically just personal preference, though.
Uncharted and UT3 will be the best PS3 games this fall unless you are a big fan of previous Ratchet games.

Is your avatar meant to be a black box?
I have high hopes for UT3, and plan on buying R&C because I liked previous games a lot and know what I'm going to get.

LOL, why do I get relegated to fanboyism and you to personal preference? Seems like a biased rating system, don't you think?

The 800 MB is a compressed file so the download won't take as long, then when it installs it should be bigger, the hard copy should be much bigger than that, plus like everyone says you get a bluetooth headset with the purchase of the hard copy! And abour 90% of beta testers loved the game so I'd listen to them before any other consoles little fanboys!

joeyg,
You're right. Personal preference is subjective. But the average scores of dozens of hardcore gaming vets and unbiased professional critics is much less subjective.
www.metacritic.com for example.
The collective and objective opinions of the majority of professional gamers and critics say that the PS3 lacks AAA games, that Heavenly is not AAA, Lair is not AAA, and Warhawk is not AAA.
It isn't just some asshole going by jake on Joystiq pulling this stuff out of a hat. PS3 = joke until next year.

So it doesn't matter if there are only at max 3 reviews available for the titles you mention?
On gamerankings.com a meta review sight there are the following:
Heavenly Sword:
IGN 7 out of 10
PLAY MAGAZINE 10 out of 10
(Only 2 review available as of now)
Warhawk:
No Reviews yet, only previews, guess that means your talking about previews of an old version. That shouldn't stop you from spreading your FUD.
Lair:
EGM 5.5 of 10
GAMEPRO 3.75 of 5
PLAY MAGAZINE 9 of 10
(Only three official reviews available. So that only leave about 47 more reviews yet to come. Your so eager to spread your FUD you can't even wait to compare completed meaningless reviews of products.)
What a joke.

but that's the thing. i could care less about what a "professional critic" has to say.
Take movies for instance..there are plenty of movies that critics shit on that people love.
Anyway, the games that the "professional critics" say are AAA for 360, i have not enjoyed. I played GoW for like a half hour. Bioshock seems pretty generic from watching my friend play.
Honestly, no system has a Must-have game. Video games are for entertainment. If you are entertained, then you got your money's worth.
Why shit on someone who wants to play warhawk if they find it fun and worth their $60? because some critic didn't like it?

And lets get one thing straight, heavenly sword,Lair, and Warhawk were games that were supposed to be system sellers. Alot of people use to add these three games too their lists of games too look foward too from sony. But now that a couple of reviews came out, these games are getting swept under the rug. 47 reviews more shag...hahahahaha your grasping at straws.
