Nintendo, Sony and EA heading to GC Asia
With Leipzig still in recent memory, Nintendo, Sony and Electronic Arts have all announced that they will be attending this year's Games Convention Asia in Singapore.According to the press release (via MCV), Nintendo will use the show to launch the Wii console in the island nation. Electronic Arts will be showing off dozens of titles including Rock Band, FIFA 08 and The Orange Box. (With any luck, Valve's BioShock ban will be lifted by then.) Sony provided a more vague statement for the press release, saying only that it will "showcasing the latest developments" for the PlayStation 3 and PSP.
Also confirmed for the show are Blizzard, AMD, 10tacle and more. Though Microsoft is not explicitly mentioned, it should be noted that the website lists Xbox as being on the advisory board. GC Asia will run September 6 to 9 at Suntec Singapore.

I can't see any reason that BLIZZARD of all people would want to show off their games in Asia. What are they thinking?!?
And no more "Nintendo is only showing off Wii Fit! We are all doomed!" posts if that's what they decide to emphasize in Asia.
That's right, I granted myself editorial powers.

I don't know if you've heard of a little game called Starcraft II.
mr nimblewick @ Aug 28th 2007 2:39PM
Starcraft? Is that some kind of RV game?
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 28th 2007 3:27PM
Yes. It's an RV game about driving and killing zombies. In an ambulance. Running over Madden.

Awesome!!! Smite those haters.

So it's some kind of ambulance/RV hybrid? That sounds fun! It would be ruined if Madden gets to talk, though.
I see it as a combination of Crazy Taxi, Trauma Center, and Resident Evil, half-sandbox style, with realistic cell-shaded graphics, boss fights against inanimate buildings, and it comes packed with a Wii-mote glove shell that allows it to detect the motion of each finger individually.

Far too right. That post brought out the worst in me (and many people here, few on either side remained eloquent, resorting to stereotyping and full on hate), i haven't fought with the trolls on this site for a LONG time

I see the vacuum of the old E3 is still trying to be filled.
Mr Khan @ Aug 28th 2007 5:26PM
I think that the ESA should sponsor PAX as something particularly gamer oriented, compared to the press-release fest with little to no original content that was MinE3
Then they should cancel MinE3, and let the big boys make their own press-release events

Woohoo, finally something worthwhile! On the other hand, the Wii is already for sale since January here.
k0sm0s @ Aug 28th 2007 10:15PM
yea i kinda surprised too.. (singaporean too).. the wii isn't doing very well here contrary to the rest of the world
blooh @ Aug 29th 2007 12:27AM
i guess this is what they're doing instead of E for All?
kinda weird having all these conferences. MinE3, E for All, PAX, Leizpig, GCAsia, the tokyo one, etc...
