This is the title that's going to save the PS3. This is what Sony fans have waited for! It's like nothing I've ever played before!

You've played it?

I might be looking at the game the wrong way or something and it might just be me... but it looks like a male-version of Tomb Raider...

It could be the game to save the PS3 if it wasn't a 8 - 12 hour game, why is it i keep seeing these short games on the PS3 when it has all this extra space on blu-ray?

it's not that short actually. most games are around that long.

Yes that's short for a game that likely has no multiplayer. This worries me as much as the IGN UK review of Heavenly Sword saying the game is 7 hours long. It's hard to justify as a $60 purchase.

I hate how they say there is no possibly way for it to be on DVD-9 and there is 22GB of data, but it ends up being a lass then 12 hour game. With no multiplayer, why so much data?

I agree, and it doesn't seem to have much replayability, aside from 'collectables.' Oh, goody.

7-12 hours is not long enough for a game, unless there is infinite replayability/multiplayer

and before you flame me, I own only a PS3

The Internet as a Platform Will Continuously Evolve

Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, an NBA franchise, and Chairman of HDNet, the richest blogger in the world claims The Internet is Dean and Boring days ago in his blog. Why? Here is his reason: Every new technological, mechanical or intellectual breakthrough has its day, days, months and years. But they don’t rule forever. That’s the reality… Just like wheels, printing presses, cars, TV, radio, electricity, water…Its very difficult to develop applications on a platform that is ever changing…

Well, Mark Cuban draws a wrong conclusion though his observations are right. Why?

1. The slow adoption of high-speed broadband during past 5 years in the US is not a problem of the Internet, or the proof of the Internet innovation stalls, it is a matter of domestic policy issues

2. From Web 1.0 to Web 2.0, the Internet has demonstrated its continuous evolution as a great platform in endorsing lot of application-level innovations, such as Wiki, Blog, Social Networking, Podcast, just to name a few

3. The continuously evolving of the Internet is good instead of bad, actually the innovation of the Internet itself is not fast enough, and that is why we call for Internet 2.0 to serve upcoming Web 3.0 better

7-12 hours isn't too short for a shooter in general, but it is too short for a shooter that lacks multiplayer and co-op. That is disappointing. This doesn't sound like a AAA title anymore. It will get an 87.

So, we are down to UT3 and Ratchet for potential AAA games on this fall's "surf 'n' turf" of consoles.

I just love how Colin managed to squeeze in a bit of his love for spreading bluray propaganda in there.

Way to stick it to Nintendo and MS...

"Not even our Gamer's Day demo would fit on a DVD-9 actually."

SURE lady...

However this is the game that will give sony a good boost this holiday season. Unless all reviews destroy it like HS, Lair, and Warhawk have been destroyed.

HS, Lair, and Warhawk have all gotten reviews 8/10 or higher. Gameinformer gave Lair an 8, IGN gave Warhawk a 8.5, and Gamepro gave Heavenly Sword a 4.5/5 that =s a 9/10. Uncharted will be just as great if not better. The visuals in this game can not be touched. Well mabey by Killzone 2. And all of you guys that hate on blu-ray the PGR4 team said they ran out of room on the DVD-9 so that means the extra space is needed and welcomed get over it. And 7-12 hours is a long enough game for me. I dont have the time to spend 40+ hours playing games. I have a life. Games are somthing to fill some down time. Uncharted will be great. A day one must have for me.

Heavenly received a 70 from IGN; that's really bad. Warhawk received a 65 from PSM magazine. Lair has an average review score under 70.

This first wave of fall PS3 exclusives quite frankly aren't very good. If you only own a PS3 and purchased it for games like Lair, Heavenly, Warhawk, and possibly Drake's depending on how it comes out, you have my sympathies.

PS3 fans will call me a fanboy for agreeing with the critics on these games. But you will agree with me when you get some truly next gen games to play, which will be happening next year.

@40cal

Your forgetting that the jackass haters like the one above me will always use the lowest scores they can find for PS3 games.

For example Warhawk got 8/8/9 from EGM and 8 from Edge (same score as BioShock). Yet it fits their agenda better to use the 6.5 it got PSM.

They like to talk crap while completely neglecting the fact that supposed AAA on their own platform are getting panned by reviewers too, see Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata.

Another dead give away for a hater jackass is someone that says they agree with these low scores when they a) don't even own a PS3 and b) the games in question aren't out yet so it's impossible to agree or disagree with a score when you haven't even played the full game.

I hate HS. I hated it with a passion. I can finally drive and I have to be chained to a desk all day and listen to all these lectures and do homework. But it doesn't matter because I already got accepted to uni. Oh wait HS means Heavenly Sword? That Goddess Jack of War game right. (/jk I actually liked high school)

Only the U.K. gave HS a bad review

EGM scored Heavenly Sword 8.3.

[Edge Magazine (UK) awarded Heavenly Sword a 6 out of 10.]

Tilt scored it 10 out of 10.

[IGN UK and IGN U.S.scored a 7.0 out of 10 praising the game's production values, graphics, sound, and art design, , but criticizing it for its short duration and repetitive combat.]

Play Magazine gave it a 10 out of 10 for its graphics, cutscenes, and gore. They also stated that it was, perhaps, the most cinematic game ever created.

Polish magazine PSXExtreme gave it 9+ out of 10.

GamePro gave Heavenly Sword an overall grade of 4.5 out of 5.

@ Jake

I already know that Heavenly Sword is alot better than a 7 just from playing the demo. So your comments mean less than nothing to me. Having some hands on time and after reading ALL the reviews the higher scores just sound right.

@ cc123 you forgot about the sub-par reviews for Two Worlds and Mass Effect. I played Bio Shock for 8 hours on Sat. and did not like it. All three of these 360 exclusives=nerdfrest to me anyways. Si-fi so not my thing. And lets not even talk about the crap that we had to play when the 360 launched. Perfect Dark, PGR, and Kameo all sucked. No good games on 360 untill Dead Rising. Then another slump. Not to mention that my 360 broke 3 times. I traded that POS into Gamestop right after I got my PS3.
