Got my nice little HD download from IGN. I think it's free. I hope they put these on the Market Place.

I've been watching these. I dunno this just doesn't feel like an epic battle between the convenant and unsc, and I don't like that documentary feel to it. Ahh well, maybe they're saving best for last.

I loved this short the first time I saw it. Blomkamp's style gives a very gritty, realistic feel to the Halo universe. Hopefully, Halo 3 and these videos will convince a big name studio to fund the movie.

Lol I guess it's just me, imo it looked like one of those paintball fields I've played on. The setting is plain with a couple of unknown walls that seem to serve no purpose, maybe just cover (aka paintball walls)

well the Halo movie does have some one funding it...... FOX

but they said they want to wait until more people to take a interest into it first.

ALSO there is a rumor going about that it is already filming and these short films kinda prove it as think of the first video. Where did they get the money to make all the scenery and weapons and even the warthogs. Also if you watch this video where did they get the money to do all the special effects and stuff and to be honest i doubt they would be filming this stuff just for halo 3 i think that the halo film is already in production and they are filming as we speak.

and yea i suppose these videos are to create a hype for the movie as well.

definitely looks really small compared to the "halo-esque" field that we're used to playing on, but it looks badass nonetheless. seeing the banshees shoot overhead was awesome!

@TORO

Dude, how can you hate these? These are fucking amazing! The detail is so outstanding, and the armor/warthog/brutes/banshees/EVERYTHING looks so well done and real.

This gets me so fucking hyped for the movie, seeing how great they can make it look, now all they need is some patented marty Halo music and it will be the greatest movie ever!

TORO

There's only one Spartan, the rest all died on the Planet Reach when it was glassed. Unless UNSC is fixing up a fourth batch.

I hate to say this, but..... I watched an episode of power rangers with my nephew the other day, and this looks sadly similar. Just with blood.

Token, you n00b!

There's about 4-5 remaining spartans, going by what the novels say. The chief himself, Kelly, erm, couple of others.

@zourskittles-

halogasm, nice. I'm stealing it.

Also, Universal & Fox were co-backing the film & both backed out due to higher production estimates. Since Weta already did pre-production work, they're trying to use it to stimiluate support & also get some mileage out of what they've already spent. You can be assured that when Halo3 bows, someone will step up to finance & distribute.

@Token

It's likely that you already are aware of this but even Halopedia says Fred, Linda and Kelly are still active on Onyx

I think the movie should be made, but it's possible that the movie will be bad and create a black mark on the face of the Halo series. Then again, the shorts are pretty good.

@Token,

In the book "Ghosts of Onyx" is were you will find the proof of surviving SpartansII's and Kurt's Spartan III's, as well as Chief Mendez and Dr.Halsey. However, some die along the way, not all but some. It's a really good book, you should read it if you havne't bug I suggest starting with the other 3 before it.

As a Halo uber fanboy, I can honestly say that all the novels, graphic novel, and marvel comic along with other Halo related things is very true to the franchise and worth the money if your a fan, with the exception of the Mcfarlene controls, I don't like the artwork.

First of all... This Video looks amazing...

This Director is going to make this film so fresh and original, it won't be compared to anything else...

They could not have chosen a better director for this film.

To be honest I'm getting sick of the vividly clear, open, colorful, happy, clean Sci-fi films.

Halo is about a massive fuckin WAR and don't you ever forget that...

This film is going to be soo gritty and primitive I see it getting a minimum 14-A or AA rating with a possible 18-R.

The reason you don't see any Spartans is this... The date is September 12th, 2534.

The candidates of the then unknown secret Spartan Program are currently in their adolescence and training under Chief Mendez on the Heavily Defended UNSC controlled planet called Reach.

These videos are obviously not taking place on Earth or Reach so one can only assume that they are taking place on another UNSC inhabited planet...

If you are going to watch the movies or these short films I advise you read the books for a much better understanding of how the film should look and feel.

The stories written by Eric Nylund really set the tone for the entire Saga. In fact I am going to pray that he writes the script...

No matter what happens the film will be amazing... It will drop jaws and melt faces...

But making the films based on every book and game in chronological order will make for a much better storyline and series of films.

If I were directing I would adapt the Books scene for scene, word for word into a movie script. Like I've said before the films should go as follows...

Halo: The Fall of Reach
(Explaining the Origin of the spartan program, their creator Dr. Halsey, their training, the covenant invasion and the Master Chief)

Halo: The Flood (The 1st game)
(Explaining the origin of the Halo's, shedding light on the Forerunner species, introducing the unstoppable and overwhelmingly devastating Flood and increasing the importance of winning the war against the Covenant)

Halo: First Strike
(Explaining the efforts of the Master Chief in destroying Installation 04 and preventing it from activating... And now his long and difficult journey home, intercepting an emergency frequency from reach he decides to go back, he finds a handful of surviving Spartans with a new Forerunner artifact that manipulates gravity and after a massive amount of space combat heads back home with a few survivors)

Halo 2
(I don't have to explain we've played it a million times)

Halo: Ghosts of Onyx
(Upon arriving on earth the remaining Spartans are sent on a seceret mission to locate Dr. Halsey who has sent a emergency signal from Onyx, while the master chief is designated as the commander of earths defenses, The UNSC secret section code named ONI devises a plan to create a group of newer cheaper, more disposable spartans... The program was started secretly a few years after the Spartan II's were completed their training and is rightfully called the Spartan III program... Hundreds are created, and trained on Onyx... where the remaining Spartan II's are headed... They find a sentinel construction facility and figure out the entire planet is a shield world to protect anyone inside from the Activation of the Halo's... By the end there are a few spartans II's III's and Dr. Halsey who end up getting stranded inside if the planet unable to leave as the Master chief continues to battle the Covenant and prevent the destruction of all sentient life within the galaxy...

Halo 3...

The conlcusion to the entire Saga...

6 beautiful films in the most amazing science-fiction film saga of all time...

Tell me what you think...

Extremely sorry for the long-ass post !

Actually I think they are stuck on Onyx with Dr. Halsey.

Read that somewhere.
