We have to cop to being just a little bit ignorant of golf games. It's never been moved to a street or played by a league of mutants, so we have a hard time separating it from the herd. Honestly, it's a good thing that Mario's played it, or else all our golf knowledge would be drawn from Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore, whichever one was about golf. (Wait, the price is wrong? But it's Bob Barker, host of The Price Is Right! God, that's still such a stitch.)
Given all this, we're probably not the best to judge the quality of the new demo of Tiger Woods 08. We do know that it seems like EA has been going the extra mile with this year's sports games. But we'll leave it to you guys to let us know if this continues the trend.

Wow...how aggravating...Live but not PSN.
Sad. It's time to buy a 360.

Billy Madison is totally not a Paris Hilton ripoff. They had a penguin when he's drunk. That's got to count for something.

Nice screenshot!
Anyway, Mutant League Golf would be nice.
Then again, Mutant League anything at this point would be nice.

No, that wasn't it at all. I hit it once, like I always do, and it reloaded the page, like it always does...and behold, no comment.
I'm a dumb guy, but I'm not that dumb. It's not like I'm the only one this has ever happened to...

Because I'm an innovator. Lotta dumb people on the Internet and no one ever seems to admit it. Kind of liberating...

I don't really like Madden anymore, but used to. I still like baseball multiplayer because the pitching is quite fun.
Woods golf, however, is the only sports game I still truly enjoy. The pace of it when you have 4 people drinking beer and golfing a round is great. You do something, then get to chill for a minute. Great game to play in the middle of a party. Nongamers can play it decent as well. Skins ftw!

Best thing about Tiger 08 is the face-mapping feature (check the EA site for a video demo). You can use the 360 camera, or upload photos via Live. You can pinpoint the eyes/nose etc. and then further tweak it via GameFace. My father in-law will flip when I put his face on a golfer. All sports games need this feature!

Yeah, that's the feature I'm most interested in too.
I assume I have to psyche myself up for this game since I'm probably gonna be forced to buy it.

That sounds a lot like an EA "guerilla" marketing post. Congrats EA, you've either sunk to a very low form of marketing or produced a fan that spouts whatever you tell he/she to care about.
Kudos.

Dave Shaw: Either way, it's a cool feature that has been a lot of fun in Rainbow 6, and I wish more games had it myself.

lol, yeah that does sound a bit like a plant. But seriously, I have always wanted a custom team of my amigos for NHL and Madden when they come over to play. The generic face models and player names on the jersey are last gen. As for supporting EA, I'm actually not planning to "buy" this game, so...

Can anyone comment on the difficulty level after playing the demo? I'm going to get flamed for this, but I liked 2006's style, and found 2007's difficulty level skyrocketed. Where does 2008 appear to fall? Also, does the game run in 720p or 1080i? (I ask because I want to know if the PS3 version will run in 1080i).

I've played all the TW golf series and all of the Hot Shots series(except 5). TW looks nice but HS is more fun in my opinion and opinions of my video golfing buddies.

Come on Joystiq are you seriously not even going to bother fixing your own typos?

Tiger Woods is the only EA Sports game I enjoy.
Honestly though...I never got around to doing anything in Tiger 06 or 07 on the 360. Not enough courses in the former, not enough motivation for the latter.
I even tried the Wii version of 07...horrible waste of money. I was better off with Super Swing, which isn't saying much. When's the Wii going to get a solid golf game?
I'm hoping I can finally settle into 2008 for the 360. Better check out the demo. Or just hit the course for real...that would be nice for once.
