Most 360 gamers love nothing more then to trample anything from Sony.

Why do you think the Sony news is always the most popular?

I think most Sony's fanboys have developed an extreme hate for x360 fanboys because of that...constant crapping on each other.

Sad mistake, i would guess

It probably would've been the best application of Sixaxis-tilt to date

(which i say out of appreciation of one of the last great side-scrolling platformers, not out of scorn for any previous sixaxis apps)

Dunno why they ditched the tilt... probably because whether 1) the controls weren't responsive enough or 2) gamers would get to friggin dizzy with the Sixaxis' accelerometers. It's not like the PSP's triggers where you wouldn't need to press anything for the world to keep its tilt.

Perhaps they should've stayed on the PSP (although marketing strategies may point otherwise). Dunno how this game looks on HDTV.

That looks incredibly strange. Saying that, LocoRoco also looked weird and that was a magnificent game. Yes, we all wanted to see tilt-controls, but let's not write this one off yet. It still looks as quirky and as fun as the handheld game.

Frankly, the main problem I see with the game, is not the change of controls, but that it's too slow and unresponsive. IIRC casual gamers require immediate feedback more than hardcore, and the "immediate feedback" I see here generally consists of a character hopping a few steps, with the occasional chain effect. and on the flip side, the generic hardcore gamer requires action, and this game is rather slow paced. The other class of hardcore (aka those which plays games like settlers of catan or civilization) seems to be the target audience here, but there's no indication of this being advertised as such.

I agree, this type of game (lode runner, lemmings, pikman, and now what I fear certain clips from Mario Galaxies is looking like, with the star-pointer thing) is really just you _telling_ the little guys on screen what to do, rather than you actually controlling the little guy. Looks like the same sort of thing for the new 'M.C. Escher' 3d-trip-out game on the PS3 too... I don't enjoy these games as much as I want to when I actually play them.

While I'm sure this will be fun for many, maybe even myself, I think at this juncture I will go on record and say I was more interested in tilting the world via the sixaxis... At least a 'shoulder button' scheme like the original.

Just a correction on Mario Galaxies: you still control your character normally, in that you move mario around using non-pointer controls. The pointer creates additional effects: the only character action caused by the pointer is spinning. The pointer is used mainly for non-character effects like hitting distant objects. (or at least, that's what I can tell from the E3 demo)

The lack of tilt is just sad,Loco Roco could be as good as Mario in the PS3 but they rather do something like this,is not that I think is crap but is not what I expected. Is more a loco roco spinoff than a Loco Roco game.

Another thing, the color look washed out really the PSP version looks a Hell lot better.

I will wait for RL:2 for the PSP.

LocoRoco bombed on the PSP (in Japan, stores were sitting on piles of unsold LocaRoco+PSP bundles, and the game itself could be found in discount bins within a couple of weeks after release). So, if it failed on the PSP, what makes Sony think it will do better on the PS3?
