That's stats are so ridiculous though, especially when they are based on BMI. I'm 12% body fat and run 10-20 miles every week, but I'm overweight, pushing obese, on the BMI chart because of my weight (which is mostly muscle and bone) versus height.

I don't doubt the USA has the most honestly obese people, but 60% is a little exaggerated, don't you think?

weightlossinternational.com got us at 65%, USA Today 64.5%......heres some numbers......4 million kids (6-11), 5.3 million (12-19) are overweight & that's in 2003!!!! We are talking about 3.8 million Americans over 300 pounds and 400k over 400....this is reaching Epidemic Proportions...Vid Guy as you can see I wasn't exaggerating, I was below the real number....Jake, yes we have bigger peckers, but its not cool to hide it under our blobber. I'm not some sort of health nut (28 don't work out but still lean just born that way) but those numbers are scary.

I'm surprised by the percentage and thanks for looking them up, but my argument still stands. It's epidemic, sure, but there's a problem in how they calculate it. When a person with 12% body fat is considered overweight, almost obese, something is wrong with the scale.

98% of all statiscs you read are bullshit *cackles*

In any case Japan and the rest of the world don't use BMI as standard, so that attributes for about half of the problem there.

Guys let's forget about stats, news, & BMI, here's a better example. Over the past 5 years I've traveled a bit (UK, France, Philippines, Sweden, Malaysia etc) as I walk around busy city streets/shops/restaurants, I rarely see someone who LOOKS overweight/obese (remember no stats just look at them). Now in America go to any public place (mall, park bench, your local main street), sit down and watch people go by I guarantee you that 1 out every 3 will LOOK overweight/obese. This is why other nations sees us that way....this was not based on stats, just perspective.

Those numbers are such BS. Yeah, America is fat. But if you are calling 65% overweight then your numbers are retarded. I don't care what dumb ass study says so. You are calling people that are slightly chubby, muscular, or having a wide frame as fat when you shouldn't be.

You want a country with serious weight problems. Go to Argentina.

Guys, lets forget about stats, news, BMI & my world tour. Can we at least agree that the U.S. is the fattest/overweight/obese (whatever you want to call it) nation in the world?

Sure. America does have a problem and is (or likely is) the country with the most legitimately obese people. The problem I have is it's a stereotype. Even if 1/3 of the people in the US are obese (which I still feel is overstating it), then you are looking at a stereotype that is being projected based on a minority of the population. That's even worse than using some other stereotypes that are at least support by statistics.

To those comparing people seen vs stat ratio:

Don't forget that it's likely for obese people to also be lethargic and thus don't go out in public.

This Bob character as an American stereotype is pretty bad.

But to me, the worst American stereotype ever has to go to Bass from DOA. Not only is he big, he's arrogant, stupid, always angry, abusive to his daughter, and, of course, has costumes with the American flag AND costumes with a COWBOY HAT. That covers just about everything right there.

Bob looks more like a southern hick stereotype to me.

Well yeah its Tekken a game where you can fight using kangaroos, pandas, robots and some weird stuff but in all its context this pretty normal.

In fact I’m glad this happen. In games like DOA, Soul caliber and even sometimes Virtua fighter they have always the Big breasted Blondes in bikinis but now Tekken take fighting games in a whole new direction, show some balls and give us a Big fat slob and for the weight of the average cosmonaut they couldn’t have shown a more appropriated character.

They only need a really ugly girl to be the anti DOA.
