Apparently, that's all part of the plan. According to the magazine, Bob used to buy into to myth of conventional beauty, but he got frustrated by how his size limited him. So ... he got super fat. No, it doesn't make a ton of sense to us either, but what do you want? It's Tekken.
Meet Tekken 6's new fatty: Bob
89
You kind of have to feel bad for new Tekken 6 fighter "Bob," seen here in a new photo from Japanese Arcadia magazine. Maybe he's always thought of himself as "the guy with curly blond hair" or "the guy who always wears suspenders" or "the guy with the completely unremarkable name." But put against Tekken's crew of hard bodies, Bob is and always will be "the fat one."

Bob would have been fatter if he could still get his order super sized at McDonalds.
I always LOL'd at fatties ordering a super sized DIET soda with there 4 double cheeseburgers 2 big fries and of course.... cookies.

You can still get a super size in Oklahoma City. I think the policy is a regional thing.

This character is most certainly a stab at what people believe is an American. They can think that though, we'll still kick they're ass if they try anything funny.. haha anyway just to be serious for a moment.
The true fact of the matter is that the reason America has one of the highest overweight populations is not because we are indeed overweight but the only country in the world that still uses the broken and proven wrong BMI scale. If you read up on how it works the only people it could logically accurately read are ones who have spent their entire life in bed or on a couch. It isn't an actual fat index, mass has nothing to do with health. Considering America is one of the leading countries for kids in sports I think it's safe to say our kids have perhaps a higher muscle mass than the rest of the world? Just go take one of your college or highschool football/baseball players who you think is fit, ask their height and weight and enter it into a BMI scale. The results it turns up are mind bogglingly stupid.

Time for some bioshock.

Thank you, as I've been saying BMI is crazy and completely overstates the problem. I'm included in the overweight/obese stat, yet I'm 21 with 12% body fat and I run every day. FWIW, I haven't had fast food more than twice in the last month either.
From what I've seen, if we get a real measure of obesity our percentage would fall to around 20%, which is still too much but no where near 65%.

Another issue is American poverty and food stamp programs. Those that get assistance by food stamps or other services often can only get high carb foods like pasta, processed cheese, and other food that is not good for the body. They have limited access to fresh fruit and vegetables and as such manage to gain weight.
It isn't the only reason, I make good money and I am overweight....

Indeed, but the US will never drop the BMI scale as a scapegoat. We can push to many of our hangups on it as a country. And call me a bit of a conspirasist but I think the whole thing was an excuse for the federal government to realize their food guide pyramid was so terrible wrong and fix it without the general public realizing it and slowly introducing more expensive and pointless low carb food products via Tyson foods and a few other companys which have shares that are majority held in politions hands.
Well according to BMI I am obese but I went to get my fat index checked and I'm at a cool 17% body fat. Then again I'm on a strict protein diet being diabetic and weight train everyday cept the weekends.
I'm also on foodstaps and I can say to you that while it is cheaper to just get noodles and those tiny sausages in a can(can't spell that german word), in my state there is no sales tax on fresh food so I can use it to get fresh friuts, meat, dairy, and bread and have plenty to last me the month.

Apparently, Bob's "body engineering" involves Dr. Nick's fatty food pyramid.

And ironically, I saw it in theatres before I met him. Serendipity!
And now I will comment somewhere else so the rest of my comment makes sense...

I've always liked Tekken because they had fun characters. Yoshimitsu, Gon (what a little twerp), Kuma, etc... Bob is a nice addition as we don't get enough fat guys in games. But still, it's a hit or miss.

The BMI is useless. I was denied insurance once because I was considered obese by the BMI. I had to go to a doctor to get a physical and have him write a letter saying I was in good health before I could get the insurance. I was a competitive drug free bodybuilder, 5'8" and 185 at 8% bodyfat. The insurance company said I was 35 lbs overweight. The doctor told me I was the most physically fit person he has ever seen and that the exam was ridiculous.

Ummm..... Wow Bob seems pretty bad ass. But how did Bob get there? Gamers aren't open enough to play as Bob, but it will be funny the first time we see a japanese game competition and some super gamer pulls out the most horrible combo ever with Bob.

Having been to London, about a 180 from Phoenix, I think a huge reason Americans are so fat is everything is built so far away that you basically HAVE to take transportation to get there. You can't walk most places, but most people in other countries can. And in Phoenix, half the year you can't even ride a bike. This country's too damn spread out. :P

"They only need a really ugly girl to be the anti DOA."
They have one, xiaoyu.
Bob the fat freestyle fighter sounds awesome, very much looking forward to he and zafina. As opposed to a genderbender leo and yet ANOTHER bull fighting spanish guy.
As far as BMI, what a crock of BS. All you have to do is look around to see that there arent more "fat" people than "healthy" or "skinny" people. Living in a city I see A LOT of different people every single day and they look fine to me (im 6'1, 180 btw). Obesity may be an issue but to think that America is filled with "fat" people is ridiculous. Unless you are taking your sample from a cosplay gathering or texas or something. HA!
