The latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly has once again provided some juicy rumors care of the Quartermann column. Q has added some kindling to rumorang fire of Okami for the Wii, suggesting that Capcom is already developing an upgraded port.
On the Square Enix front, rumor has it that Kingdom Hearts has a "series of prequels currently in-the-works for a number of consoles and handhelds." That would fall in line, at least partially, with what Tetsuya Nomura said back in May that the next KH game would not be KHIII but rather a spin-off for portables.
The third rumor presented is that "a popular studio" is working on an open-ended, Grand Theft Auto-style title based on Batman.

Because I think there's a lot of folks calling shenanigans way too soon. And I don't have a broom. You yourself just said the lineup isn't utilizing the Wii's potential. That's reasonable, but there seems to be a veiled disdain although it took the DS a good year to really heat up. Give it time.

Not to mention that the status quo has been skewed, now there's more judges for games and the 10 button setup won't satisfy them all. Not to mention folks either just starting or getting back into gaming after a 30-year hiatus. It seems like elitism from conservative gamers. ALH said he's unnerved by non-motion games taking a backseat, I'm unnerved by people passing judgement on the rest of the wii's lifespan based off of this fledgling year, and using the 'classical average' gamer as a litmus test. That's not the only demographic playing anymore. It's as if the only way for a game to be considered entertaining is for it to captivate you for hours with an engrossing story, but many times I just want to turn it on, play pong or mario bros., turn it off, and be entertained.

Okami is just one of those games that should have been on the Wii in the first place.
It would almost certainly sell well, given the core Nintendo audience, too.
Now if we could also get a Godhand port...

Oh man Okami on Wii would be sweet. Since I'm on the verge of selling-off all my PS2/PS3 stuff this would be great news.

GTA Batman, eh? Kinda cool...unless it's old-school cheese-filled Adam West Batman, in which case it's awesome!

i dont get why wii owners are so excited to play old games with added motion control, if these games tend to sell the most, thats all you're going to get because developers will see a reason to make a quick buck.

Wow.. maybe someone was listening when me and my mates spent hours discussing how a gta/spiderman2 version of batman would be the greatest game ever.
Of course, that was about 4 or 5 years ago, so they can't have been listening that hard.
WHen we were talking about it, we thought it should be based on Batman The Animated Series, and be cell shaded. Mostly cos we all wnted to drive the awesome, phallic, batmobile throught the city and smash cars aisde! (but swinging around the rooftops and riding bat bikes and batjets would be cool too.)
However they need to give it a bit more depth than gta and spiderman 2.. have the random rescue missions and robberies, etc.. but also have some MYSTERIES you actually haveto find clues for and SOLVE.
Instead of just following instructions from marker A to marker B, it'd be cool if you had to work some of these things out yourself.. find various clues and hints around the city and use them to figure out where to go next. Use your batcomputer to analyse clues, etc.. After all, he is supposed to be a detective 1st and foremost.
PS/ Wii Okami would rock... they should also re-tool Odana as a battlefield bowling game ;-)
