The game released yesterday. You picked it up. We picked it up. Everyone is happy.
But, without stating any spoilers, we'd like to know how far along you are. How many hours have you put into the game already? How much fun have you had with it so far?
Personally, IMO, it is a waste of money to buy these games the day they come out. Any game that is not online multiplayer doesn't need to be bought at launch, for $50 no less. Yes this game is probably amazing. And I will be getting amazing savings when I buy it on eBay for $29 in a month or two.
Got about 5 hours of play in last night.. but I'm taking my time. Not trying to rush through. It's an amazing game. The controls feel so natural now; I can't imagine how people put up with dual analog for FPS.
Yes, Jonathan Tran, without online there's no need to get in on day one. But many of us can't wait through the hype and talk. I have at least three games I want to play through before MP3, yet I had to buy it yesterday and try it out because I just didn't have the discipline to wait when everywhere I see people are saying this is easily the best game yet for the Wii and probably the best-control FPS ever. I'm really going to try hard to wait until Christmas for SMG and SSBB, but I don't know if I'll make it that long!
5hrs, 564 kills. Very cool, very fun, incredibly responsive (I mean, like WOW!). It's so nice to have Samus back. She was the reason I bought a GameCube and got back into gaming. Thanks Retro and Ninty!
Only got 1 hour in, loving it so far. One question thou, what does the percentage mean? (meaning only got thru 2% in 1 hour?) Before you ask, I have not played the first or second game yet.
The percentage in the Metroid games has traditionally meant a percentage of game completion in terms of items collected. For example, the percentage probably won't change if you beat a major boss, but it will if you collect a Missile Upgrade or a new beam.
@Germ: You can certainly play this without 1 and 2, but it of course would make little more sense with the Dark Samus thing.
I would recommend some time just grabbing used copies of MP1 and 2 and play 'em in your Wii (you need to get a gamecube controller, though). You can probably find them for $5-$10.
MP3:C is said to clock around 20 hours with a first run through, which is about 30 hours of play because the game clock doesn't count time spent reading scans or looking at the map.
For those with arm pain - are you holding the remote out in front of you like a light gun? Why? I'm sitting upright with my hands on my thighs/knees and have 0 pain and the game still works great.
I have gotten about 1 hour into the game...I just landed on the planet.
For the most part, I am very impressed with the controls, but I am having difficulty with the lock-on feature. A little more time, and I feel like it be be second nature.
Great presentation in visuals and sound. Can't wait to see what is in store for all of us deeper in the game.
Good to hear, I thought I was slacking w/ only ~2/3 hours in. It looks amazing and the controls...well, after you get used it they're amazing. I also enjoyed getting the 100, 200 etc kill tokens, gives a nice feedback for accomplishments. Is anyone going for Veteran mode yet? I figured I'd ease in due to the new control scheme and general hotness of the game, but do tell if you've tried
39 minutes...right before the berserker pirate...tried to beat but i had to leave it for later..
now i have a question for you guys...i had to update my system via the update software included in the game disc, having said that, i don't know if it was because of this or something to do with the game, but during the whole first level the conversations done by the "general/admiral/commander Dane (?) and the other hunters and some "key" troopers, kinda stuttered, and the music as well will "stutter"... what the hell man?? this ruined my fisrt impression... did this happened to anyone else???
Drew, buddy, you are in LUCK. There's a settings option that lets you flip them. Also, look in the sensitivity settings to adjusted things up how you want them.
I think you can change it in the options menu, right?
I've preordered THE game.! But it won't come out in Norway until 26 of october. Sad, but i just think about australia who apparantly even doesn't have a release date yet.
6hours into and I love it although I felt the same in regards to the trigger being A initially so I switched it to B, but later went back to A as I felt it more optimal for jumping(and shooting) the more I became accustomed. Also, I'm with vidguy's no. 28 post.. I kee my forearms near my legs/thighs and haven't had any arm pain. Great game so far.
I'm about 4:30-5 hours in. I was fighting that damn beast-rider boss thing in the Jousting area. The rider died quick but I think the beast is impossible. It says to grab it's tail but it doesn't even have one. I dno if i need a weapon upgrade to beat him so i just shut it off. I'll go back to the East half of the planet and do the other thing i was supposed to do
7:22 here, once I got home yesterday on Tuesday it was all I did. I'm fairly impressed with it so far. It saddens me this is the last in the Prime series, hopefully Retro has a new one in the works because they really nailed the controls for the most part.
We know it's tough being such a big and influential country such as yourself, but we would appreciate it if you took the time to remember that you're not alone on this great big blue globe of ours.
We know it's tough being without such a wonderful game such as Metroid Prime 3, but those of us who own it would like to discuss it and not be heckled by those who don't. Please don't turn a friendly conversation about a video game into a shouting contest about nationality.
The Wii says I've clocked 2+. With continues and messing around with controls and what-not, I've got 4-ish. NOTES: Controls are wonderful! I HATE console FPS's, but I worked through MP1 and MP2 when they were released. (Until of course, I got the Main Research glitch in MP2. Haven't touched it since. *snarl*) This game, so far, is excellent. Special NOTE: Retro said this was the final of the 'Prime' trilogy. So that means MOAR! Why? Because moar! Now, I'm gonna go play some moar.
