I doubt I will be downloading any of Fox's stuff at this time. I usually buy the seasons on DVD for the Simpsons and Family Guy.

Family Guy has been disappointing since its return. Stewie doesn't try to kill Lois or talk about world domination anymore but instead they make him into a homo and put him in a dress who kisses Brian. Now I am not gay bashing but I thought he was funnier with world conquest as his goal.

Lois also seems a little more dippy since the return. It seemed like whe was smarter in the original series.

Also... I can understand wanting to pay the premium prices for a movie like 300 in hd, but why a cartoon in HD? It's not like there is that much extra detail in a cartoon that can't be simulated with the xbox's excellent scaler.

I don't know though because I am one of the people underwhelmed by the cost+features of hd content so far.

24! Twenty Four! GIMMIE 24! (in HD)

If I miss an episode, BAM, perfect reason to drop a few hundred points to download an HD TV show.

shame europe STILL doesnt have ANY xblm content bar game demos and and some truely pointless trailers

i'm not holding my breath for the supposed fall/autumn release, nor am i holding my breath for them to release the whole thing (coupled with bs announcements about licencing)

i hate to sound like one of those excessive complainers on this subject but until MS show that they arent completely ignoring a huge segment of their market by treating us equally...

back on subject though, i'd have me some FG and SP when it does finally come!

Family Guy is easily one of the most unoriginal and unfunny shows on TV (next to American Dad...ugh,) however, this Fox partnership is good news. If they put up some older stuff it might even get people to try out Buffy or Arrested Development.

One can hope.

@baby sea tuna,

Isn't Buffy owned by Warner? I woulda sworn that Fox owned Firefly, but Buffy was a WB show.

I'm curious nobody's pointed out the first thing that occurred to me: if Fox puts up HD content, then another of the Blu-Ray exclusive companies will offering content for XBLM. Interesting to see if it impacts the HD format war at all.

On the one hand, I hope this pushes both sides of the format war towards digitial distribution (and away from the physical-media wars). On the other hand, none of my systems have enough storage to keep everything I want to watch in a high-def format (my PCs total up to about 400 gigs, and I still have an original 360 hard drive, which barely fits a single highly-compressed movie); also, digital distribution almost always implies heavy DRM, which does nobody any kind of good.

Oh, and re: Family Guy, my wife agrees that it's gone downhill, to the point where she won't watch it anymore. I still get about 3 good laughs per episode, though, even if I have to suffer through e.g. 5 straight minutes of fighting that guy in the chicken suit or whatever that is. That's just barely above the threshold where it's worth the time to watch it. American Dad had a few genuinely funny episodes, and has gotten worse pretty much every time since then -- I have no idea why I bother to record it anymore.
