First Neo Geo titles confirmed for Wii VC, Sept in Japan
Meet Elta, the last of the magician lords. He's eager to get back to defusing the Gul-Agieze's doomsday plot, and, thanks to the teeny-tiny Neo Geo system stowed inside Nintendo's Wii, he can. Yes, the dormant powers of the most garish console of its time will be unlocked at last: Neo Geo emulated on Virtual Console! (We knew it was coming; now it's just a little closer...)
Nintendo has confirmed three Neo Geo titles for the Japanese VC, including the aforementioned Magician Lord (the console's original pack-in game), alleged "Street Fighter ripoff" World Heroes, and ever-rereleased Fatal Fury. (Both Fatal Fury and World Heroes are also available in separate PS2 anthologies this year.) Fatal Fury will launch first, on September 11th, followed by the magi and heroes later in the month. Each port will cost 900 Wii Points ($9).
Specific Neo Geo titles targeted for the North American and European VCs have yet to be revealed.

=)
I think that the USB Storage support is very possible... almost every gamer has full the Wii's internal memory. And Neo Geo games are a little heavy.
And then, WiiWare titles starting in 2008.

I'd rather see two come to fruition but would take either solution.

Nintendo wouldn't be stupid enough to alienate current customers by not providing them with a solution. They may upgrade the internal flash, but it won't be a whole new model with a $100 price increase.

Sorry Nintendo

Garou: Mark of the Wolves is fighting game awesome. We recently got a copy of it for the arcade I work at. Woot!

Will it come here? Who knows. Anything's possible. We've already gotten one game not previously released in the US in the form of Battle Lode Runner (TurboGrafx-16).

Disc compilations are nice, too, though (I loves my Metal Slug Anthology!).

Lower the VC prices please nintendo and company.

I really wish Nintendo would do a little more with the games than just give you the ROM. Many of these games would be a thousand times better with a little check-point / saves integration or some graphics tweaks.

wake me when we get Samurai Showdown, Neo Turf Masters, and the original King of Fighters (i'd include Metal Slug, but a lot like Sonic on the VC, the anthology collections are easily available for teh cheap)

6 games (Metal Slug 6 is on Atomiswave, not NeoGeo) x $9 = $54, not $70.
(Sorry, had to say it)

SNK's probably making boatloads of money off their recent PS2 compilations... which sell for six dollars more (MSRP, eleven bucks more at Gamestop/EB.)
There are some great games on the NeoGeo, but nine bucks for each is just too much. And don't get me started on space concerns... :(

Art of Fighting Anthology (three games)
Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol.1 (four games)
Metal Slug Anthology (seven games) is $40 for all three platforms (Wii, PS2, PSP).
While I do agree that, compared to retail compilations, these digitally distributed copies seem a bit pricey (which is why I have the GameCube Sonic collections instead of Virtual Console versions), but comparing to the actual game cartridges being sold, it's MUCH cheaper.
NeoGeo games go for about $100. Depending on demand, it may be higher/lower, but that's about the average.
I was including the entire Online Collection in Japan (there's eight volumes out, and a ninth is coming out soon.)
I agree with the whole "It's a lot cheaper than owning the Neo carts" argument, but it's STILL expensive for a digital distribution game. And honestly... who wants to pay nine bucks for friggin' Fatal Fury? (I have sentimental reasons to love the game, but there's no way in heck I'll pay nine bucks for it.)

That's right SONY. Shouldn't Nintendo have came up with this first then have it copied three months later with Sony saying "No way dudes we thought of this first...just ask bob. Seriously I told him about it mad long ago."

As for why we're not seeing Wii->DS downloads yet... [shrugs]
