There's been some confusion surrounding the exclusivity status of Free Radical's upcoming shooter, Haze. First, the publisher announced it would be leading on PS3, though the developer confirmed that the game was being built with all platforms in mind. The following month, an Ubisoft release list showed the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Haze following the PS3 version by just one week ... but they later pulled both of those versions from the list entirely stating that the PlayStation 3 was "the only confirmed platform."
Of course, this all sounds a little too much like the mess surrounding Assassin's Creed's exclusivity (also courtesy of Ubisoft). Adding to the mystery today, GameSpot UK writes, "Ubisoft said that currently no other versions [are] in development, and although it was still leaving the door open in the future for 'new partnerships,' currently the game is indeed only planned for the PS3." So, what about the previously planned for Xbox 360 and PC versions? Ubisoft says, "The official statement on PC and Xbox 360 is that these platforms are not confirmed." If they're not confirmed, and not being "currently" developed for (despite what Free Radical may have been doing previously) then it sounds like Haze may be skipping Microsoft's one-two punch for now. How about a straight answer, Ubi?

In all likelyhood, he's probably right. They probably had a set budget for all 3 versions, and they started work on the PS3 version first. Now they realize that, due to PS3 architecture, the PS3 game alone is going to eat up the entire budget for all 3 games. Because it was farthest along, they halted development on anything else until after the PS3 version is finished.
It may wind up being true exclusive if the game bombs or does mediocre.

I like free radical FPS.. I really love the character design.. It's sort of comic-booky, but it works well.. It will come to the 360. Lets be real here..
If it's not exclusive to Sony (and this goes for ALL games), then it WILL come to the 360. -Get over it.. You can hype up a story -like this one. But the fact remains.. There will be a 360 version.
Real talk.

This game appears to be a fairly standard FPS game, despite it's graphics, but so was Timesplitters, and those games (especially 2) were fun.
Some of my friend's who are really into FPS games say this game looks good, whereas when I showed them Bioshock they were kind of "meh" about it. Different strokes for different folks as they say.
I'm looking forward to UT3 on the TRIPLE more than anything. Keyboard + mouse controls = win!

If by "all" you mean Warhawk, UT3 (timed) and Haze (probably timed), then no, I guess?

Killzone and Haze and UT3 and RFOM and ratchet and warhawk and uncharted all are. Even Kojima mentioned you could play MGS4 as an FPS
I just find it funny that the 360 has a reputation as a shooter console and it has a much wider variety of games as its exlcusives for the moment whereas the ps3 is being pumped full of FPS.

I wouldn't count UT3 or Haze because they are porbally going to be for the 360, so if you're looking at it now then yes. In future no. The onlt ones that are truely exclusive for the PS3 are WH and HS. I'm couting those exclusive.
Same goes w/360:
Gears
Bio
Halo
Mass
*just pointing out* *Not saying anything bad*

Yeah, there is some irony there. Heavenly sorta flopped and Lair has become a complete flopasaurus. Warhawk is pretty good from what I hear.
You have UT3 which looks great. Haze which could be pretty good. And Uncharted which is still a bit of an unknown. Okay, Ratchet too.
Four shooters and a platformer will be Sony's big hitters this fall along with Killzone and MGS early 2008. Even funnier yet is the fact that UT3, Kill2, and Haze all look like very standard, though quality, FPS games. I mean, very run of the mill in style. Two of them are sequels for christ's sake.
The 360, on the other hand, counters with Bioshock (anything but standard FPS fare), Halo 3 (standard), Mass Effect (very non-typical) as well as some completely different genres like Sonata, PGR4, Odyssey, Alan Wake early 2008, AC6, and some other crap I'm too lazy to put in.
Can we officially call the PS3 "teh FPS console"? People used to get so annoyed last gen when I'd call the Xbox the FPS console. But most all good xbox stuff was FPS. Now the same is true for the PS3.

I just got my copy of Lair today. I can't wait to play it. Check out the real world reviews by people that don't get paid to write reviews over in the comment section of PS3fanboy.com. They are mixed there also. But there are plenty who love the game.
I love how they deduct a point on Warhawk for no single player yet don't for Bioshock with no multi-player. I'm playing Bioshock on the PC and the gameplay mechanics are very similar to Dark Messiah: heros of Might and Magic, nothing grounbreaking there.

LOL... I love how just a few days ago all the anti-PS3 people were bashing Warhawk and saying it was a disappointment like LAIR, all based on a single PSM review... who obviously unfairly rated an online game before public release. Then after the game launches it starts getting a bunch of 8's an 9's from everyone else and suddenly no one is bashing it anymore and it's suddenly become "pretty good".
I also love how you list just the games that seem to make your point... so for the PS3 is list some "shooters" (Uncharted is a much of a shooter as Tomb Raider, but whatever) and then throw in R&C. Yet for the 360 you throw in games like Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, and AC6. If you're going to list those why don't you list games like Hot Shots Golf 5, Folklore, WipeOut HD, GT5: Prologue, InFamous, and LittleBigPlanet? Oh yeah, because they don't prove your point.
Of course, I do see your point I do agree that the 360 is unfairly characterized as an FPS console, but, damn, you are almost never fair in your comments about the PS3.

you mention pgr and sonata--lets not forget that the most popular and acclaimed racing sim is playstation exclusive. ditto for rpg (it starts with an f and ends in IVXXVIXIVXI). mgs4 can be played as an fps? okay... but it's not an fps. and if you think its an fps, there's not much i can do to help you buddy. you just don't know your video games.
the only exclusive ps3 fps worth mentioning SO FAR is resistance. and its an okay game.
warhawk isn't an FPS. 10-50% of any given round is spent on foot (usually closer 10%). its third person. and the genre is actually SYPA: shit-your-pants-awesome.
but you make a valid point- a lot of fps coming to ps3. and thats not really a bad thing, for anyone.

Personally I don't like free radical FPS. They haven't done anything new to the genre since Goldeneye and that's the truth.
Who here likes a FPS that does nothing new, makes no changes and has the same gameplay that we've seen since the mid-90's?
Not me dammit... Not me...
And it just seems like the only people that can't see a blow-ass game/fps for the matter are people defending PS3...

"Zaphod- I don't think PS3's power will be pushed for a while. I mean pwoer doesn't mean much if gameplay sux. I want this game though."
I agree Justice. But we are starting to get glimpses of the True power (geez I sound like Vader) of the PS3 with games like KIllzone2, GT5, LBP, Uncharted. Just like the PS2, the PS3 wont really stretch out her legs until year 3. And if GOW is any indication of the continual prying open of the PS3, then in year 5 we will be in for some gaming goodness that we can only dream of right now.

IGN is disliked because theyy rarely rate games below a 7. They are disliked for OVERrating games.
Lair getting less than a 5 when KILLZONE could manage a 7 speaks volumes.

Ratchet is platform. Poeple associate 360 w/shooters because the Big exclusives like you said are shooter exclusives. Even though 17% of shooters are on the 360 and it has different exclusive genres.

Here's a fun exercise - go to metacritic and sort all PS3 games by score. Count how many shooters there are in the top 20 (spoiler: 5). Now do the same for 360 (spoiler: 7).

Does anyone truly believe, for a minute, that Ubisoft would say "screw you" to the PC & 360 and release on the smallest install base of the current gen consoles? Not very sound business practices, unless, of course, Sony handed over gobs of money to offset the loss of a far bigger potential in sales then they have on the PS3.

Isn't it ironic that the majority of the heavy hitters that are coming out for the PS3 are First Person Shooters? Every forum, message board, or blog that has PS3 defenders are always stating that the 360 is the first person console, yet the majority of PS3 games coming out are First Person Shooters, and their highest rated game is a First Person Shooter? What gives Sony fans? Let me say this in defense of the FPS genre, is it because a first person perspective arguably is the best way you can get a gamer a full sense of immersion? Of course there is an over saturation of first person shooters, but the hard core gaming public is probably sick and tired of platformers.

wow good job trying to be original when 10 360 owners already made that point and 10 ps3 owners already disproved it.

I'm sorry, but this game really is generic, at best.
You work for a private military corporation called Cranbotch.
You were injected with a drug called Fromulir, which enables you to fall down.
You fight the Slebers, who all look the same, except for a symbol on their crotch.
Eventually, you become a Sleber yourself!
And it all takes place in Mexico.
That pretty much sums it up.
(atleast from what I saw, courtesy of Zaphod)
Feel free to add your own genericness.

The bottom line is that the PS3 is very, very much more a shooter-only console when it comes to quality games than the 360 is. Heavenly and Motorstorm are both pretty decent, though not AAA-outstanding games. But the best the PS3 has to offer is still Warhawk and Resistance, with UT3, Haze, and Ratchet the best on the horizon.
The 360 has much more quality non-shooter action on the way. Even Bioshock is anything but your ordinary shooter. I wouldn't even count it when tallying up relatively generic shooter lists the way I would put in halo, killzone, haze, or UT3. you know?

There are a so many shooters for both consoles so I fail to see that one would be more FPS-heavy. Though I admit comparing to PS2, PS3 has way more shooters (coming).

Hell yes I'm looking forward to HSG5. IMO, it's one of the best golf series available. I downloaded the demo a while back from the Japanese PSN store and have played it literally dozens of times. It's very high on my list of anticipated games. I've always loved the series and this one is going to have an online clubhouse where you can sign up for tournaments and such.
As for GT5... hahah... the series has sold millions upon millions of copies! Of course people are looking forward to it! I'm not as interested in it as some other games (I'm more of a PGR4 guy), but it's defnitely one I'm keeping my eye on.

IMO the game looks good,I like FPS as much as I like platformers,What I dislike about FPS are Genric scenarios, stories, weapons, music etc etc, multiplayer achievements that are based on quantity and not quality.
So basically I love Great FPS like Half-life,Condemned,The darkness or Bioschock which have great scenarios, music, weapons and a great story to tell.
But I dislike FPS that are mostly based on the multiplayer experience like Shadowrun,GR:AW or games that feel generic.
Games like Gears of war and Halo are in a limbo in which I love the single player experience but I hate the multiplayer modes.
In this case the game looks like it might have a story to tell.

Just watched the dev walk-through of this game over on gamespot and it's completely generic. Sure the graphics look solid, but that's expected. The gameplay though, generic FPS through and through. That's not to say it can't be fun, but it's certainly brings nothing new to the table.

I haven't seen anything that exciting in this yet. It's main feature seems to be that you can cause guys to overdose... Fantastic.
It'll likely just be another competent if somewhat generic shooter. I liked Timesplitters 2, although probably never played more than 2 or 3 levels of the single player (mostly just played multiplayer and "challenges"). Maybe in another year this would look good, but with so many other options just this fall I don't see why I should care about this one.

I played Haze at PAX. Thank god it's PS3-only, Sony can keep it.
That was the most disappointing 20 minute wait I've ever experienced. The *idea* behind the gameplay is awesome. The implementation of it was absolutely pedestrian. And that's being civil.

If Ubisoft is really only developing one version of the game does that really mean its the only version of the game.
Could it be possible that the other two versions are already done. There has been some news about PS3 versions of games being delayed.
