Granted this is a Japanese trailer, so maybe when the marketing starts up over here they'll drop the bad vocals, go full (midi) orchestral and tone down the Disney. The real question is if those who were excited about this game before still are? It's pretty hard to drop the ball on marketing the return of NiGHTS, but boy is Sega doing its best to pull it off.
Japanese NiGHTS trailer sort of a nightmare

As a huge fan of the original NiGHTS (favorite game) I can say that the "cheesy" music in the clip is certainly nostalgic and builds my hope for the game. I love hearing that familiar song again along with clips from the original game; however, I have to ask: is Sega really marketing it to a different crowd?
NiGHTS on the Saturn was marketed as a game that let the player fly and this seems no different. It appeals to the imagination and if yours is buried then perhaps NiGHTS isn't a game for you.

It's probably been mentioned before, but this is the same theme music used back in the Saturn version of the game and nobody seemed to have a problem with it then. It's not so much "added" as "it's always been there and for fans of the original game hearing this music is actually fairly nostalgic".

I've been keeping this page up to refresh the comments on this every now and again. And every time I replay the video, it just makes me want this game more. It recalls a time to mind when games were simpler, and more about just plain, unalderated fun. The original Nights was like that, and its looking like this new one is following right in the originals footsteps. I think its pretty interesting to see how many people are coming up on the side of the trailer, too, and against the article itself. I think it goes to show where people came from in their gaming history, and where they are today. Nostalgia does live on in the hearts of the gamers of yesterday, who are the more mature gamers of today. I can't wait for this game to be released. The latest rumor I have heard is that it has gotten pushed back to a spring 2008 release, which...if it follows the other games that have been delayed on the Wii...only means that its going to be perfected even more. I think MP3 has shown what the Wii is capable of if a game is given sufficient time to be developed, and not rushed to market, and it looks like Nights is following right along behind it.

I've never gotten to the end of Nights, but from what I did play, that looks and sounds perfectly appropriate for Nights.

This should be a good sequel, everyone forgets how good this game looked back then. Games like Daytona USA and Night were the reason for going 3d on the console in the first place. As far as the fan boy comments, well lets just say the Nintendo/Sega fan boys have enough sense not to spend over a weeks pay check on a game onsole. Oh and the Wii also saves energy at only 17 watts compared to Sony at 171 watss and MS at 194 watts, so how much is your console costing you now? I am a pc person, so dont even acuse!
