well lets hope Disgaea is as good as it looks because I've always dismissed dragoneers' aria since i saw the trailer. But then I too had played this game and still thought it was crappy.

I gave this game a 3 out of 10.
It is that ugly. The overall game is terribly slow, as if you're playing the game underwater.

The presentation is garbage, this game doesn't even have intro, and all the cutscenes are bad. And slow. It's like playing a demo of an unfinished game.
And the story sucks too.

Oh God, its terrible. Stay away from this crap!

Bummer. In some place of my heart I was really wishing this game to be good.

But oh well. Bring on the next RPG.

yeah, i had a feeling that this was gonna be a bad game, at first it seemed that it was staying true to turn-based rpg games, not in a bad way, but a brave story way, but but looking at your review and my opinions later considering the game, it really has a lack of style in its gameplay or story, its just another technically laden crappy rpg on the psp, whats wrong with having a simple rpg with every character having unique special attacks and stuff, thats what makes games like jeanne and brave story so great.

At least Jeanne D'Arc and Brave Story, two fantastic RPGs on the PSP, can hold everyone over for a while.

Exactly - while Brave Story is an example of taking the familiar and turning it excellent, this is an example of doing the familiar and making it boring and bland.

Well after all that, you still gave it a 6.5? Sounds like runemaster's 3/10 is closer to what you should have given it.

i actually liked the game. before you jump on the band wagon you should probably actually play the game first. if you interested here are some good points to the game.

the battles are a challenge as the "travel mode" shows only 1 type of monster (a bat-winged eyeball) you need to be on your toe's and not expect to have a easy battle since you wont know what your fighting till you are in the battle mode.

as for pallet swapping. stop complaining every game does including final fantasy, and diablo and considering the psp has only 32 megs to load maps monsters and animations it does a good job and should be considered acceptable, given its limitations. finally the animation look good and if you can excuse the screen tears in games like gears of war and halo 2 i see no reason to knock this game for that again considering the limitations.

No great loss - I have my hands full with D&D:T and Jeanne.

I would mention that PSPF usually coughs up pretty hard-to-please reviews and that there was negative buzz here about this game long before it got reviewed. In other words, no love was exactly lost at the first impressions.

Still, good to have you guys MORE critical than LESS critical.
