You don't have to be a Nintendo fanboy to white out anything shagittarius says.

The only requirement for whiting him out is not being an idiot.

This comment had nothing to do with Lair but way to make it sound like you have a clue what were talking about. And way for all the other fan tards to vote up your stupid comment as well.

If you don't want people to vote you down then stop being a fanboy tard.

You don't have top like Nintendo, but you also don't have to make comments about how you hate their stuff so much. If you are saying something sucks because of what company made it or what console its for, then its a retarded fanboy comment.

You are just as bad if not worse then the Nintendo fans you make fun of.

Something cool = Lair/Remote Play.

My comment still stands, twit.

Huh. The one BAD idea from Nintendo that Sony stole, and it's used to make a crap game somewhat playable? Interesting.

Does it make me want to spend an ungodly amount of money? No.

What is a bad idea, in your words?

An idea that one can't make a profit out of?
An idea that can't be implemented well in instances that use it?
An idea that doesn't have worldwide appeal?

No matter what it is, you'd be wrong, in the case of both the Wii and the PS3.

Wow.

The choice for someone playin Lair is to either play a get that was getting 50/100 and less on the PS3 or to not have the graphics and play a game with semi decent graphics on a handheld. There isn't any win since you can't have the good gameplay on the console it was meant for so you have to buy a psp if (like so many) you don't already have a PSP but instead have neither or an DS.

Sony Fanboys must be pising themselves at night with the pure excitement and joy which Sony delivers to them.

Wow, can't wait for Ratchet and Clank, a 2nd rate platformer in comparison to Mario, yet the main talk of the Sony Fanboys now that Lair has fell into being useless.

Wow. That's...pretty damn cool, actually. I'm more interested in it as a test case--clearly Lair sucks balls and doesn't matter, but this could be really cool for MMOs or other kinds of games.

Yeah Lair does suck but so did Chicken Shoot and Boogie. And I don't even think 360 fans should even talk. All they get is Hand-me-down games. Lmao it's soo funny when they finally got Katamari they all smiled, so the original creator creates a better game for the PS3 to shut them up.

What in gods name are you talking about? You're comparing a hyped as shit game to three games that nobody really gave much care about to begin with.

And don't even get me started on the 360, which blows the Wii/PS3 title list to smithereens.

Lair was never portrayed as a AAA title by Sony. Sony has always stood by the strategy of offering something for everyone. The game controls take time to get used to, but that's about it. The game isn't meant to have depth, just like a Dynasty Warriors game is simply meant to go around and kill stuff. It has its market and I personally think the game is average but nothing more and nothing less. It's no worse than Crackdown or Shadowrun.

Regardless, I'm amazed at how people want to focus on this game when Warhawk is out and if by far a better game and probably the most fun I've had on a shooter in a long time.

True, it was not Sony that hyped Lair. It was the fans.

Anywhos, I agree with you on Warhawk. I played it with a friend the other day, and to tell you the truth, it's actually pushed me to buy a PS3 (something I will do when I can scrape together 599 US DOLLARS)

I hate it when people talk about stuff that they have no idea of. Looks like the public school system forgot to teach you guys common sense huh? Oh yeah and if you look at that list there is only 2 FPS (if you wanna count bioshock which is debatable, Lost planet is a third person shooter). It's so funny that with all of the knowledge on the internet there are still alot of freakin idiots.

What happened to Medal of Honor? And Call of Duty 2/3? Oh, don't forget Advanced Warfighter 1 and 2. Oh, and Stranglehold. Oh, can't overlook Shadowrun. And Perfect Dark Zero. And... well the list just goes on and on.

I find it surprising that you talk about others and their stupidity and then in your rush to defend the 360 make yourself look just as stupid.

I can and will overlook shadowrun because it's not fun for that long. The real thing that's stupid is that you call them hand me downs. There coming out the same time, if not earlier for 360. I'm not shelling out 600$ for the system when I can get it on my 360.

Joystiq its time to remove the 'White Out' feature for posts that get voted down. More often than not the idiot fan boys abuse the system to 'White out' anything that doesn't meet their agenda, they then vote up all the tools spreading FUD. This only serves to let the idiots appear as the driving reader force behind joystiq and discourage non-fanboys from participating in the conversation.

Everyone deserves their voice, but being able to vote down a comment to 'White it out' is simply disrupting the natural weight of each comment.

I fully believe this feature should be removed. I hope people get to read this before it gets whited out.

Why if that doesn't further prove how much of a fanboy you are, I don't know what does.

Fanboy logic: If you are not with me, you must be an asshole that likes a different system.

I'm not a fanboy, I'm a gamer. I have have each system, and I can safely say none of the big 3 are perfect, and neither are any of them inferior. Fanboyism is so pointless, you only end up looking like an idiot, and in the end you miss out on a lot of stuff.

You fail

I don't know how the Playstation's Remote Play works, although according to readers, you basically just make your PS3 run a game while you play it via a wi-fi spot on your PSP... unless I'm completely wrong and it just means that it uses a wi-fi connection to connect the PS3 directly to the PSP ("ad hoc", a bit like what PSPs or DSs use to local multiplayer with each other).

Assuming the first part to be true, it must suck being stuck with just the game that's inserted in the Blu-Ray drive. Unless you've downloaded games on your hard drive. Yeah, hard drive is the future! Screw media formats! =)

Remote Play works like this: You associate your PS3 with your PSP by connecting it with a USB cable and running a one-time setup. Afterwards, you can connect back to your PS3 from any hot spot. The only downside is that you have to leave the PS3 powered on and in connect mode to use it (although they're apparantly working on a Wake On Lan feature for an upcoming firmware).

When it was first implemented you couldn't really do anything with it. When PSP firmware 3.5 was released, you could stream videos and music (doubly handy if you're running something like TVersity on your PC - stream all PC media to PSP!). I used it at E3 to remote into my system at home and download the E3 videos so they'd be waiting for me when I got back.

Last month, the new version of Folding@Home was made playable remotely. Lair is the first game to utilize the feature. Sony didn't announce it and still hasn't officially confirmed it.

Thank you very much JET, you've been extremely clear and helpful. It seems like a nifty function for those able to afford both consoles, although I don't think that Remote Play is a feature which is going to promote the sales of one another. But a really nice convenience indeed, especially for media files to access on the go, with the PS3 acting like your own private server.

They REALLY should have marketed the PS3 as a multimedia hub because it's a shitload of value for its price.

fatass I was only talking about games that weren't hand me downs. That excludes the COD and MOH series seeing as those games are multiplatform. If you would like to include the critically acclaimed GRAW series that sold well on the 360 then go ahead. and since when has Stranglehold ever been considered a FPS? Have you played the demo yet or was your ass typing on the keyboard. Crumb

Actually, if you consider Metal Gear Solid to be a new franchise, certainly built from the NES/MSX versions but new, like the MegaMan X series could be considered different from the NES version... then Night Elve was correct... Metal Gear was born on MSX... but Metal Gear Solid was born on PS1.

Since MGS used the same shitty leave a room and return and all the enemies have respawned and act like nothing is wrong that every crappy NES game used, unlike I don't know, a stealth game not designed by an idiot, I'd say it is pretty much a direct sequel to the crap NES games. Sorta like GTA moving from top down 2d, to 3d, still the same game, and metal gear still sucks.

Erm, no, you twit, it means that everything is being processed by the PS3, and what appears on the PSP screen is simply a video output for the PS3.

In other words, same exact graphical quality, albeit on a smaller screen.

I actually think this feature is pretty cool. It will come into its own when there are more games that befit the concept. Movies will be good too.

Course what you really need is as massive hard drive plugged into your ps3, with full installs of all your games and movies, so you can use it as a jukebox with your psp while youre away. It'll probably happen.
