Warhawk is download-only for Japan
Though U.S. and PAL gamers have the choice of purchasing Warhawk in store, Japanese gamers are only getting the option to download the title onto their PlayStation 3's hard drive (via IGN). The game is coming to the Japanese PlayStation Network on October 4.
Of course, having only one method of delivery and a delayed release does have its merits, as multiplayer mayhem will only cost Japan 3,800 yen -- at current conversion rates, that's approximately US $32.

This game is Battlefield 2 for the PS3. Its fun but nothing new.

A game doesn't have to be new and original to be awesome though. Reinventing the wheel over and over is a stupid way of developing anyway.

i wonder if they're using as much HD space as heavenly sword does with it's 11 languages...

If you're going to try to be sarcastic at least attempt to use some intelligence. Clearly the games is a 800mb download and is by far the new must have title for the PS3 (at least in the NA). I doubt this will do well in Japan.

I'm not surprised. Warhawk was made by a US development team and caters to a western audience. Those games never do well on the Japanese market. There are only a handful of western titles that were a success in the land of the rising sun: Grand Theft Auto (surprisingly!) and the Ratchet & Clank series.

I know, there's not enough turn based strategy-less combat in GTA. Oh how I abhor thee RPG combat.
