Elena Fisher, the sidekick to Nathan Drake in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was never the prettiest girl at the ball, but we admit to having a soft spot for her. Call us crazy, but we kind of liked the idea of a female game character we thought wouldn't automatically spray us with Mace if we tried to chat her up at a party. Now, Games Radar has reported that with just a few digi-highlights, Elena has been moved firmly back out of our league.
You can see her miraculous, She's All That-esque transformation in this series of screens. No, she's still no Ivy but we doubt we'd be able to "get the digits," as the kids are so fond of saying. Where's Mystery when you need him?

Yep, here's a hint for what the "digits" are, guys:
7 digit arrangement of 0 and 1
But yeah, just make someone blond and all of the sudden their uber-hot (there are many people that would agree with this philosophy, mostly Germans now living in South America.
Had nothing to do with the fact that they de-Lenoized her chin.

Actually I agree with you. It is pretty surprising that Naughty Dog didn't make her a slut.

indeed. I liked the original idea for the new lara much more.. before they chickened out and reverted to big boobed slut mode.

It's the lighting. They only needed better lighting to show that she's not ugly.

Still ugly. I hate these average-looking characters. The game is in serious need of some hairspray, belts and zippers.

I have ever told you that I like the triangle head?
If it was in 3D, would it be a triangle or a pyramid?

"this article is retarded. Justin, you failed...big time."
I wouldn't go that far. It does seem like it should only be on PS3fanboy though.

If that is the same character, I don't really see the point in the change. Her face is still frugly and doesn't look that much better. The only thing that looks better IMO is her eye textures, they look more like real eyes.

What's wrong with "girl next door"age? This kinda irks me. There should be some chicks in games that you wouldn't find on a runway, you know? :/ Games have turned into soap operas; even when it's just ordinary people being thrust into extraordinary circumstances, it's beautiful ordinary people. Please, bring back "Physics Major" and you can keep your Jessica Alba-lookalike.

I love how no matter what Naughty Dog does, they get no praise, only criticism.
First Elena is too ugly and everyone complains about how much she looks like a man.
Then Naughty Dog changes her appearance. Is this change met with praise? No. Instead Joystiq says "we admit to having a soft spot for her. Call us crazy, but we kind of liked the idea of a female game character we thought wouldn't automatically spray us with Mace if we tried to chat her up at a party."
That's interesting... I don't remember Joystiq (or anyone else) saying how much they liked that she looked unattractive before and how "refreshing" it was.
Bottom line. She looked like a man before. Everyone hated it. Naughty Dog changed it. Good for them. Good for us. Rejoice. Praise Naughty Dog. If you have a complaint about this NOW that it's changed, just move to Antarctica and spend the rest of your life mating with elephant seals.

Actually, Naughty Dog gets nothing but praise for their animation. Something which, once again, is being praised in this game. Naughty Dog is a highly desirable studio and definately one on any upcoming CG artists hot list to try to get into.

A fine example of what female character design should be. If you want to define a normal/realistic female character, then make her look normal instead of some pinup teasing our male senses for no reason. >_< (I damn the MMOs!)
(and no, I'm not into female taurens)

Just as long as this isn't a portent to changes made between the PC demo of Warrior Within to final product. I hope they avoid G-Stringitis attached to stopping a battle just so the hero can let out a generically angsty "you... BITCH."

One of "the" most profitable females in gaming, gasp, is a brunette. So who the "eff" is the marketing idiot whispering sweet nothings to Sony?
(hint about "the" female...first name is lara)
Blonde=dumb
Fake Blonde=dumber
Brunette=sharp as a tack..just look @ Brigette!

You lot are a bunch of idiots with horrible taste in women.
Keep your runway models out of my games. I want gaming women to look real women, not like plastic surgery jobs.

She used to look like Chloƫ Sevigny... now she's a little more generic, but I still like she looks like a normal woman, quite refreshing.
