Available in Europe for some time now, the FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage demo has finally arrived on the U.S. and Canadian Xbox Live Marketplace. Previously, we were impressed with video footage from the game, so it will be nice to finally give it a test drive. FlatOut, if you don't know (or haven't guessed from the Ultimate Carnage subtitle), is a particularly violent racing game, full of death and destruction. Go fire up the old Xbox and give it a go. If you like what you see, expect the retail version to hit the shelves next month.

So my 360 is telling me that the xbox live marketplace is currently down. I was gone all weekend so i may have missed an announcement, but is this happening to anyone else? I know i'm connected because i can still play online games and see which friends are signed on. It's just that no one else seems to be having Live problems except for me. I wanted to download this demo and now i cant

I've played the Carnage race mode at least 20-30 times. It just doesn't get old.
Enjoy it you yanks and canadians!

Is this any different from Burnout?

It's definitely a poor man's Burnout. It's fun and all, but there only really a handful of tracks and the rubber-band A.I. is infuriating as hell.
The side-game events are where all the fun is.

Is it just me or if you read Flatout too fast it looks like Fartout or Furtout.
