So what's Apple suppose to do? Not release any new products?

If you paid attention to the internet you would've known Apple would be releasing a new iPod today well over a weak ago.

I bought my 2G Nano last May knowing full well, Apple could possibly release a new one just b4 X-mas. Lifecycles in technology change very fast. The key is to jump in and not look back.

Oh yeah!?!?!

Well, I bought the 1st gen Nano fully knowing if I waited even a few months they would release a better one
The Nano is cool looking and all but it can't hold a lot of music and it has the battery life of samfish's cellphone.

No - I totally expected an upgrade. I just wasn't expecting one so soon. Usually, most consumer electronics have a 3-5 year shelf life. The 5G Ipod have barely been out for a bit over 2 years.

I still want one, though.... (One of the touch ones)

And one more thing - does everyone who has a 5th gen Ipod get those games for free, now??

I'm assuming not. Cheap bastards.

Ha. What would make you think they'd do that? It's an incentive to buy the new one, not a gift.

its funny how everyone here seems to be a techy, in addition to a gamer. i guess its true that most gamers are also technologically knowledgeable.

Playing Vortex on that thing would be painful....

And hopefully they fixed the freezing bug.

@ archie91s

Actually, you are only seeing the techy side of Joystiq because they are responding to a more tech-oriented post. We are, however, the minority here, which is especially evident when the flame wars begin and all the fanboys come here to post (I will agree, though, this has been quite a civilized discussion).
