I'll never understand why he was overshadowed by Mario 64

Ha ha! I'm in stitches. Worse than Star Fox 64 Rumble Pak promo. At least rumble became a standard.

As usual, Steven Spielberg had it only half right.

Saturn had a lot of good things going for it (game wise). This was not one of them.

What Saturn owner could forget the day when the battery powering the internal memory died and all their save files were lost? Ah, the memories.

hell yeah I remember that day! I have no idea why it's a fond memory though but it is, lol. BTW I actually played Bug 1/Too back in the day with some of my friends that weren't hardcore gamers and it was pretty fun.

The same could be said about any cartridge-based Nintendo console, like the Super Nintendo.

The difference being that each catridge game would eventually lose its memory, while when the little watch battery died in the saturn, it instantly lost ALL of your saved games. And this battery didn't last ten years. I'm thinking about 2.

The first time I had gotten to the last stage in Panzer dragoon saga. Whoop, all gone.

The second time I was on the 3rd to last battle in Shining Force 3-3. I still haven't waded through the japanese dialogue again to finish it.

Dude, I had a chance to buy a Sega Nomad and Panzer Dragoon Saga on clearance and til this very DAY I freakin regret not doing it!! LoL

Oh and my biggest loss w/the watch battery thing going out was I finally had all the fighters on Fighters Megamix and then poof gone, lol.

I have a Nomad, bought it off ebay. It was a complete waste of money. I don't know why Sega thought a huge portable that ate through 6 AA batteries in 2 hours was a good idea.

Missing out on Panzer Dragoon Saga when you had a chance to get it is a tragedy, though. Hopefully it will be re-released somewhere. And that I can sell my copy for $200 before that happens.

All I have to say about this video is the following quote:

[scales a wall]
[a potted plant smashes against the wall from the right]
DANTE: Why are we doing it like this?
[camera tilts to reveal its not a wall, but a floor]

Also, hey, that Bug looks like a giant Bong.

I just saw the first 10 seconds and had to stop:

What kind of idiots are working at publishing companies that they would actually care what a MOVIE maker thinks is going to sell a VIDEOGAME system?!

Hey! How about I go ask Nolan Bushnell how to be an astronaut? How about I go get John Glenn to give me football tips? Let's ask John Madden about the latest fall fashions! And get medical advice from Chris Rock! I'll even get Keith Richards to do my plumbing! Then...we'll go see what VIDEOGAME that STEVEN SPIELBURG thinks will sell our VIDEOGAME CONSOLE!!!

Idiots.

No wonder Sega's gone down the shithole.

*ahem* Not that I hated Bug. It was alright. But honestly, who the ---- in their right mind would give a crap what Steven Spielberg thinks about anything non-movie?

(BTW, Does anybody else find it odd that "Spielberg" is in Firefox's spell check?)

Okay, I know I'll be busted for this, I know, but Bug and Bug Too were quite enjoyable. Of course this is taking into consideration that Saturn wasn't REALLY a 3D system. And there's no denying that Bug was a gameplay template for Crash Bandicoot.

I still go back and play Bug from time to time. And Mr. Nimblequick.... you never bought a backup memory unit? I have three of those badboys. Only time you can't use them is when the 2MB or 4MB ram expansion is in the bay.

Although I owned neither, I do recall the first Bug being enjoyable. Never played the sequel.

Maybe I should hunt them down one day.

Bug was horrible. I mean, given that Mario 64 and Tomb Raider and games like NiGHTS were out at the same time, there was NO place for Bug!

PLZ don't remember Saturn for this. Remember NiGHTS and Bomberman and Guardian Heroes, Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Cop2, etc...

You know, Bug wasn't too bad. Well...it wasn't real good either. But you have to remember when this was happening. I remember standing in an EB seeing the demo video for this and being amazed by the 2.5D graphics, doing things like walking "on the walls" and stuff, this was hi tech man!
