Man I'd probably get a hug or late curfew at his age for saving my dads life. Not a PS3 though.

That's just stupid....

These two pictures are actually showing a)the kid playing the PS3 and hating it (just look at that derision on his face), and b) someone handing him a bunch of tight old NES games when he declares how much he hates Sony's new movie player.

Whats with all the jerks trying to spin this move? Sure, it was a PR decision by Sony, but then again, if I asked for a PS3 and Sony gave me one for free WITH A STACK OF GAMES, I'd be fucking happy regardless of whether or not it was a PR decision, and I'm sure all of you would be too... except for those of you who harbor baseless hate against faceless corporations, of course.

Because if they couldn't complain, they would have nothing to say.

Maybe I don't like the wording, but saying the kid "deserved" a PS3 seems wrong.

He saved his dad's life as well as everyone who could have been injured or killed if the BIG-ASS trailer truck would have jack-knifed and caused a serious pile-up. The kid "deserves" the friggin' key to the city, but I suppose a PS3 will just have to do.

Heartless ass.

Holy crap! I remember last fall dude got shot holding out during a robbery of his PS3 money. Also, what about the gamer earlier this year who stopped the robbery and got shot?
Neither of those two got a PS3.

I guess Sony has a "flawless victory" clause associated with heroic action PR gifts. :)

Sony's PR is happy, the kid is happy, move along folks.

And come to think of it, thanking you kid for saving your life without you having to pay for the reward IS a nifty thing.

colin:
"If anyone is interested, the list of games were Kindgdom Hearts 2, Gran Turismo 4, God of War 2, Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal, Metal Gear Solid 3, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy XII, Okami. And who said the PS3 doesn't have any good games?"

way to go with the M rated games for a 9 yrs old kid sony!!! think a little next time

I don't get it.. The kid saved his dads life (his own as well) and demands.. DEMANDS he gets a PS3 for saving his dads life. How selfish can you be? You should be proud you did something heroic and unless they handed the PS3 to you as an offer then that would be reasonable.

I don't care if this is a PR stunt--and it is a PR stunt.

The least that kid deserves is a PS3, among other things, and I hope he's happy with it. Now, who's given or is going to give him a full college scholarship?
