@1 I AGREE

Gamevideos is really crappy.I used to like them but they need better programmers for their player. Gametrailers is sooooo much better, hurray for using established formats like Windows Media and Quicktime.

Looks cool, but after looking at it more I think I prefer Halo. No it's not because I'm a "kid" or because I'm a Halo fanboy (well maybe a lil bit), but the gameplay seems more fun in Halo IMHO. You do not have to agree with me, in the end it is my opinion and preference. So no flamming kiddies. I'm only expressiing why I'm more excited for Halo than TF2.

MY reasons I like Halo better:

1) Anyone can pick up any weapons, obviously TF2 being a "class-based" game will not allow for this
2) Bouncing and timing grenades is a skill in Halo in order for you to be victorious, no grenades in TF2 :(
3) Huge ass multiplayer maps
4) Numerous vehicles on those huge ass maps
5) Equipment - will alter gameplay and strategy
6) Customizable everything - Spartans, Logos, Service Tags, etc.
7) Matchmaking - Plethora of gametypes, custom ones, team-based games, solo, double, ctf, and much much more
8) Forge - see #7
9) Campaign - hellooo???
10) 4 player co-op FTW
11) Saved films - youtube here we come, machina, sending films to Dj on how I no-scoped him across the map, etc.
12) Web-based stat tracking
13) Upload high-res pics from website
14) have I missed any????

My point is that Bungie is not only creating one of the best FPS games to date, but is doing it on a GRAND scale. If you hate Halo for some reason, your grown-up comments are welcome ;) see ya guys Monday!

This game is +so+ reminiscent of Quake 3! The rocket launcher is back! Rocket jumping FTW.

I suppose that given the game's lineage this is not surprising...

@6 Toro -
You make excellent points but trying to compare TF2 to Halo3 would be ridiculous. These are two completely different types of multiplayer fun. You could more easily compare Conker Live & Reloaded multiplayer to TF2. These two are more alike than Halo to TF2. I'm personally excited about COD4 multi, Halo3 Multi and TF2 Multi. They each offer a different experience each looking to be superior in their category of fun. Don't dis a great game because you want it to match up against Halo3. We all know Halo3 is going to rock, I think TF2 is well worth the purchase of the Orange Box.

wow just watched the videos, that guy had to be on a console controller or something, his aim was horrendous, especially with the sniper.

Does anyone know if 360 will ever get mouse/keyboard support? If so I might have to try that Halo game people talk so much about - assuming it doesnt have any assisted aiming already built in. That I despise.

The game looks cool but it seems these videos don't seem like they were made specifically to show off a certain class. It seems more like they were playing in the office and said "hey why don't we put this videos up". I mean the "engineer" one had the guy being a soldier for more than half the video, and then we didn't get to see any of his building plans actually work but the dispenser. Also the guy seems to suck at the game.

Yea he was using a controller, since you actually need to practise and have skill to snipe using analog sticks as opposed to simply pointing and clicking like you would close an annoying popup, anyone can do that....lulz

Seriously, Gamevideos sucks. And it doesn't work in Opera, making me load up IE just because I wanna watch some video. Mind you, ALL other flash-based video players work fine. Then when I do load up IE the videos are choppy and slow. What gives?

Retardedness.

ok, i've never played the series ... but i heard folks talking about the character animations ... namely "this. is. next. gen." don't get me wrong, this is a must have for me, but i'm sorry ... those graphics can be replicated on the wii. call me a graphics whore, but you could at least fix the pixelization (i don't know if thats the right term) on the chain length fence when zooming in with the sniper. looks like a psp title.

This does look really good, the Orange Box is looking better and better with every new video I see.

Honestly, though, if it comes out now it'll probably be overshadowed by Halo. If this was a July or August release, it could have dominated. Instead, they took this cocky "fuck Halo" attitude and are probably going to suffer for it.

They really need to replace the half-life health pickup sounds with something new that fits with the style of the game.

There should be no half-life sounds left over in TF2. It makes the game feel incomplete (kinda like a HL2 mod).
