Imagine playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl on a screen like that.

...Or Bioshock/Metroid Prime 3 if you like to stay with the FPS theme.

Sorry but considering that my friends Wii looks terrible on his widescreen TV why would I think that it would look any better on IMAX?

What, is your friend using composite cables? My Wii looks just fine on my Aquos, and MP3 looks pretty damn good might I add.

Well, for BioShock you're better off just having a big ass 4:3 screen, you see more of the god damn picture that way.

Oy – I think that would make me want to barf more than anything else. I get disoriented just turning my TV on panoramic view and playing games.

...although I wonder what it'd be like to get the RRoD on an IMAX screen...

Oh-ha! How long did that take? A RRoD comment which made absoulte ZERO sense. Congratulations, you win a hammer to the face.

For future refrence, you don't SEE a RRoD on-screen, the red rings apper around the Power button on the front of the unit. Your lack of knowledge about something you're insulting just proves you're a bandwaggoning attention whore/bad troll. Now gtfo.

This is starting to get irritating:

"You have successfully completed your objective but you're not a winner.

A new mission can be undertaken tomorrow.

If you'd like to continue, click here.

If you have any questions please contact us at halo3@mkpromosource.com"

I won the other contest however:

"Congratulations, you were one of the fastest to complete the objective. Your reward: The chance to be one of the first to play Halo® 3.

You will need to bring a printed version of this page along with a valid ID for a chance to gain access to the Halo 3 First To Play event at San Francisco. Doors will open at 9pm on September 11, 2007."

Go me.

Ya, i got that same message and i printed it off, but it says a "chance" to be one of the first to play. So i dont know what that means exactly. Anwyays, has anyone figured out the city word scrambles? I can't if you do please post in a comment.

The city state word scramble was CAMBRIDGE MA. I was one of the first 250 from that wave to get one of those.

I misinterpreted the message at first. I thought it was telling me that I had been granted a *chance* to win one of the 1000 pre release copies. Upon reading further into the official rules and small print, it said "instant winner," and "subject to verification."

I sent an email to the address above, and got a response back from Jennifer Hibbs at Marden-Kane Inc. telling me that they were able to confirm my entry and that I would be receiving a copy of Halo 3.

w00t!

Likely, it will probably arrive at 2:00pm on September 24th... Pontiac/Microsoft is making a "best effort" to get it here early, but that's when packages normally show up for me. 10 hours before launch? Eh, it's a free copy and I can gift it to a friend so I'm happy anyways.

Best of luck to anybody else who tries. Next wave starts in 8 hours.

BTW... party at my place on the 24th!

I got the code, too. If I read the terms correctly, only 2500 invitation codes will be given out. But of the 2500 people who show up, only 200 or so will actually get into the event. From there, who knows how many people will actually get to play the game on IMAX. I live about 3 hours from New York, so I might give it a shot.

hmmm...I won't be too disappointed if I don't win. I'll be playing all the Halo 3 I can possibly stand on my puny 106" projector screen. I think that is plenty big from 10' away.

I will NOT be a tool for Pontiac. Fugly vehicles they have. (The Saturn's version of the Solaris is way better looking...go figure).
Yes, I want to play Halo 3. But not this bad. Here, a hoop for you to jump through..good boy. Here's coupon for bone. Print it out, and wait in line.

I'm very excited about HALO 3 arriving. My only question is: What sort of PC is this game going to require? Im sure its going to take some REAL horsepower, expecially in the video card. I wouldn't worry about that for now, Microsoft sees Halo 3 as a big 360-mover, so I doubt you'll see a Halo 3 PC (Games for Windows) any time soon, infact, I put a minimum time-frame of about 1-2 years. Look how long it took Halo 2 to get on Vista...

Yeah, I won too. It's almost a 3 hour drive from Chico to San Fran. I honestly don't know if it's worth the drive. I could probably spend that time playing Bioshock and the COD4 beta some more. Time well spent.

92" of pure joy. I can't put into words how great gaming on a projection setup is. If you have a light controlled room, it's absurdly cheap to do these days.

Sort of ironic that the San Francisco event is taking place at the Sony Metreon, FTW?!?

And what's with 2500 winners and only 200 allowed in?? Huh??

Is this a semiphere IMAX screen? Or a Flat one.

The sphere one would be cool, the flat one would be worthless...
