Is there some kind of system behind which games joystiq makes posts for release dates for? I know you guys like FPS, but this doesn't really seem like a major title.

Talk about a missed marketing opportunity! They should have called the game 'Da Club' that way if the end product sucks, it would still have sold to those uninformed sods who made 50 Cent: Bulletproof a sales winner.
