Sounds good.
Victor @ Sep 10th 2007 5:24PM
Dani California is a ridiculous ripoff of Mary Jane's Last Dance (written by Tom Petty). It made me lose my respect for Red Hot.
NaeemTHM @ Sep 10th 2007 5:55PM
O__O
Holy Jeez they DO sound alike. But I'd just chalk that up to cord sampling. I mean RHCP are talented enough...I doubt they need to steal from a legend like Petty.
vidGuy @ Sep 10th 2007 6:29PM
/Yeah, I mean, OMG, Petty should have copyrighted the chords Am, G, and D!/
But I agree, I'd rather have a different song that wasn't so... poppy. Peppers have tons of tracks better than DC.
tactics @ Sep 10th 2007 6:45PM
way to seem well-informed and edgy there, guy! good thing we have a super-sleuth like you on the case! we should've guessed. after over 10 albums of original material-- a band which includes 3 of the most talented musicians in the history of rock'n'roll decided they might try to slip a quick one under the radar and steal an age-old chord progression from one of the best known rock bands of all time, right? good thing you were on the job to make sure that didn't happen! hey, did you ever notice that "the alphabet" song and "twinkle twinkle little star" sound a lot alike? wow! twinkle twinkle little star SUCKS!
you know, petty actually said, "a lot of songs sound alike." you ass hole. go fuck yourself.
-"superfan" tactics.
i mean, it makes total sense
Synner @ Sep 10th 2007 6:57PM
WOW, and you ripped that whole flame almost in its entirety from maddox. Way to go mr. originality!
tactics @ Sep 10th 2007 7:15PM
it was an homage! i'm glad you noticed though. more people should read maddox's work.
and i don't recall ever claiming to be "mr originality" either, ass hole.
-"superfan" tactics.
Victor @ Sep 10th 2007 7:27PM
@tactics
wow, you're really polite aren't you?
i'll fuck myself in a little while, thank you, mr. maturity (:
first of all, if you play any instrument or have any musical coordination, you'd notice that it's not just the chord progression. what else? you mean besides almost identical riffs and theme-alike lyrics? well, find out yourself if you're so smart (:
Dragod @ Sep 10th 2007 7:38PM
I say we get some "Other Side", how about you guys?
DeadPlasmaCell @ Sep 10th 2007 5:26PM
hah, that chick in the 'Reunion' Ad on the right looks like the lead singer in the Rock band Photo..
/bored

What I'm talking about..
/Shutting up for real this time
ZenGaijin @ Sep 10th 2007 5:27PM
I'd rather "Califonication" just because I'd always love that song but this is great news none the less.
RockBand has quite the songlist.
IlyaG @ Sep 10th 2007 7:08PM
Remember, it's not about how good the songs are to listen to. It's about how FUN the songs are to PLAY.
Crono @ Sep 10th 2007 9:34PM
Thats the song that made me realize I absolutely hated the chili peppers. Their older stuff is alright, but Californication has to be the worst song i've ever heard... from them.
NukeAssault @ Sep 10th 2007 5:35PM
Black hole sun? Sign me up!
vinny @ Sep 10th 2007 5:35PM
that 90's listing is almost perfection, november needs to hurry up
Donald @ Sep 10th 2007 5:39PM
Detroit Rock City?
*kittens die*
rivaldi22 @ Sep 10th 2007 5:41PM
BLACK HOLE SUN.
My younger years just came back in an ominous flooding wave.
Crono @ Sep 10th 2007 9:37PM
The 90's was the era of songs with words that don't make sense together. Allow me to demonstrate:
"Come and mame through the cream and I'll hear you scream again...Blackhole sun..."
Words that rhymed, and made for good music, but it was gibberish.
rivaldi22 @ Sep 10th 2007 10:40PM
It's "call my name through the cream, and I'll hear you scream again."
It doesn't make a lot of sense, but I always thought the song was about dealing with alcoholism.
Phranctoast @ Sep 10th 2007 5:47PM
I rather have rhcp from the 90's
Truepatriot @ Sep 10th 2007 5:48PM
+7 for that headline.
god when will they announce a release date and a price D:
Monkeydog @ Sep 10th 2007 5:50PM
Needs more R.E.M., Beatles, and Oasis.
It really needs more 60s music, very much so.
Synner @ Sep 10th 2007 7:04PM
Dude, it's called rock band, not whiney bitch, overrated, egomaniacal douchebag band.
Monkeydog @ Sep 10th 2007 7:30PM
And that's why nothing I said was like that?
Crazy silly man.
Synner @ Sep 11th 2007 5:07AM
Oh PLEASE, What about playing whiney self absorbed Michael Stipe bitch music makes you feel like a rock star? No, please answer, I mean why not put Alanis Morrisette on there or maybe Sarah McLachlan? Same thing for Oasis, instead of playing the notes, you could try to pat yourself on the back in time to the music for being so groundbreaking and innovative or "the new Beatles" as I believe I recall them trying to bill themselves. Other than the Beatles, who I still don't see anything great about, what did any of the bands have to contribute to rock music? If they want to release an old as dirt expansion, I can think of a lot of bands I'd rather play from that era: Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Elvis, Buddy Holly (with the new keyboard expansion maybe) they would probably be a lot more fun than the beatles. The song has to be fun and challenging to play in addition to popular and I don't see the beatles having any songs that fit the bill, but maybe it's just that I can't think of anything but I wanna hold your hand right now.
Monkeydog @ Sep 11th 2007 11:03AM
I would love Bob Dylan or any of the things you said, BUT THEY WOULDN'T AT ALL BE FUN. Considering how much bass and drums do you normally hear in those songs? This is ROCK BAND. And The Beatles and Oasis are great examples of a ROCK BAND. Rhythm, Bass, Lead, Drums, and Vocals, all in great measure. I'd love to play The Importance of Being Idle by Oasis, or With A Little Help From My Friends, Get Back, Revolution, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Or Everybody Has Something to Hide Except For Me and My Monkey by The Beatles.(or A Hard Day's Night with awesome cowbell)
Sean @ Sep 10th 2007 5:55PM
It's all about the =w=.
colin @ Sep 10th 2007 6:27PM
fuck yeah, rivers is a golden god. i thought my name is jonas was gonna be on rock band, i guess thats ghiii
Raikage @ Sep 11th 2007 1:30AM
=w= FOREVER
I wanna play Say It Ain't So right now...
Esupio @ Sep 11th 2007 4:35PM
=w= FTW
My name is Jonas is one of the reasons I plan to buy GH3 before Rock Band
and the fact I don't own a 360
yet
and the Wii version of Rock band is rather shady at the moment
Andrew Hagan @ Sep 10th 2007 6:01PM
When did they add Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Between that and Beastie's Sabotage, I'm sold.
Not do I get a PS3 to buy the game, or just get it on my PS2?
killploki @ Sep 10th 2007 6:14PM
just do yourself a favour and get a 360
Mr Khan @ Sep 10th 2007 6:15PM
KISS, Rush, The Who, Bon Jovi?
Yes please.
umm....hello??? @ Sep 10th 2007 6:27PM
umm...I don't think it's coming out on the PS2...just the PS3 and 360.

Ludwig Kietzmann @ Sep 10th 2007 6:32PM
Oh, but it is:
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/22/rock-band-to-perform-on-ps2-hits-europe-in-2008/
umm....hello??? @ Sep 10th 2007 6:54PM
Ludwig- cool. thanks.
my friend will be happy/disappointed. Happy 'cuz he has a PS2 but disappointed because his gf isn't going to allow him to get a PS3/360--and disappointed 'cuz he'll have to wait until 2008. I just have to decide which version I want....PS3/360 (leaning strongly towards the 360 version).
Yuccadude @ Sep 10th 2007 6:33PM
I just wish that Tom Sawyer wasn't a cover, but I guess when I'm playing it, I can just have the actual song play over it on my stereo.
I also would have preferred Fell on Black Days, but Black Hole Sun is second to that in my opinion, and it is much better than no Soundgarden at all.
Lewis @ Sep 10th 2007 6:45PM
THANK GOD.
A fuckin SOUNDGARDEN SONG!
SCOOOOOORE!
jynxycat @ Sep 10th 2007 6:52PM
SPOONMAN.
ShortFuse @ Sep 10th 2007 7:03PM
Of all the Radiohead songs, they pick CREEP!?! It's a great song, but I was hoping for a real Radiohead. The band even admits to not really liking the song. Pablo Honey was just their starting album. I'm sure other Radiohead fans will feel robbed by this.
HAL9000isonline @ Sep 11th 2007 1:16PM
i'm banking on them releasing "OK Computer" or "The Bends" as a downloadable album in the future, thats why they included Creep. At least, i hope so! (Kid A & Amnesiac may not be really suitable for RB....)
Matt B @ Sep 10th 2007 7:03PM
I'd rather of had 4th of July instead.
Adam @ Sep 10th 2007 7:04PM
The 90's section is still missing some Alice In Chains. Where's "Rooster" or "Man In the Box"? Gotta show a little AIC love.
Nathan_lol @ Sep 10th 2007 7:28PM
WTF? Where the hell's the Dream Theater?
umm....hello??? @ Sep 10th 2007 11:35PM
Hellzya!!! Except I don't think most people would be able to keep all the odd-meter timing in the songs...and I'd want a larger drum kit like Mike Portnoy's monster kit.
Peter Clark @ Sep 10th 2007 7:48PM
Yeah Radiohead fans got robbed... shame there's no Muse on there, although I guess Guitar Hero 3 will do.
rivaldi22 @ Sep 10th 2007 8:35PM
It would be nice to see a little more Muse recognition, or even, daresay, some Placebo?
Ludwig Kietzmann @ Sep 10th 2007 9:02PM
You gentlemen have fine taste in music.
