Are you still looking for that special someone? Gametrailers user Brotha has recreated the second Grand Theft Auto IV trailer in GTA III: San Andreas. While we're impressed by the endeavor, the video has actually made us more eager to get our hands on the upcoming violent sandbox sequel by showcasing the visual improvements in the series.

I had the PC version. I remember it being a shit load better looking then this and the PS2 version. Sure it's like saying Clint Eastwood is better looking then Jack Nicholson, but the PS2 was forever pulling lame tricks out of it's arse to try to cover up the fact it really couldn't handle it.

Wow I'm surprised by the amount of hard work and effort of this video let alone why would anyone waste time on that?, Now that's a Loyal Fan. You better don't screw GTAIV Rockstar.
Too bad I never liked GTA SA,I still have it but I never get what was so great about it, it was disappointing and the controls kind of sucky plus other stuff but I will leave my rant for another day.
This is kind of cool.

Nothing worse than an opinionated idiot. Please make sure you actually know what you are talking about before trying to correct someone.

Naw, I liked the first SA way better with the homies and chicanos and whathisface; I think you'd tire of this knuckle-dragger rather quickly-I hope they bone the graphics up tho, they are shat. I'll get it anyhoo because ALL the GTA games are absolute gems! Kudos to Rockstar! arrrrr.

Is that what the PC version looked like? Ouch.
Here's what I saw when I played San Andreas:

That's what SA looks like on the PC when set to low. Set to high on the PC, it looks like the Xbox version, but far sharper (due to the higher resolutions) with better draw distances.

The PC version on a machine that isn't powered by springs looks a lot better then the PS2 version. To their credit, Rockstar did try really hard to polish that turd.

I like GTA, but after the third time failing a mission, I would just sandbox it up and kill random people in random ways. I found Oblivion to be much more fun with just random killing, because the guards only come after you if you get caught, they don't just magically know that you started shooting every car you see with a rocket launcher...

and it's too bad there aren't options to turn on/off cop pursuit (not during a mish of course) so you could mess around without having to enter the lower stars code every few seconds
and i liked the gang wars in the san andreas, but there should've been an option to turn them on/off as well. it's annoying to be doing a mish or just messing around and you keep getting bugged about your turf.

Two screenshots that i still had on my HDD. Max detail with 4x AA. Certainly looks alot better than the console versions but GTA is not really a game that has cutting edge graphics.

I'm playing the PC version of Vice City right now, and it just goes to show that graphical "prowess" is all relative.
I'm having a great time playing VC, and though it doesn't have all the wonderful graphical tricks of current games, it actually doesn't matter.
Unless you have been playing Oblivion 2 seconds before switching to VC the graphics actually look great in motion. Good enough that i'd actually say it sometimes looks beautiful.
The direction and artstyle has a lot to do with it, as does suspension of disbelief..
... it just goes to show how pointless and irrelevant most of the nitpicking discussions on here over new screenshots are.

Holy gawd. That guy is playing the game on 10 year old computer. I can play it at max settings with out a problem. it still has some jaggies, and crappy models but it doesn't look that bad. Why would you even link that? it's almost as bad a a spin off of a popular youtube video, parody.
