Namco Bandai site shows Eternal Sonata and Beautiful Katamari coming to PS3 [Update]

Namco Bandai's official US website now shows Eternal Sonata and Beautiful Katamari coming to the PS3. Although Namco Bandai still won't come out in a press release and say it -- something they're accustomed to -- unless some web intern went on a bender, we'll take this as one-eyebrow-lift confirmation of both games for PS3.

For Beautiful Katamari there has been an epic saga of what console it'll end up rolling to. First it was all the systems, then it was for a few. It was even reported that it was going to XBLA for a little bit. Currently the Xbox 360 version has a release date of Oct. 16, with the PS3 and Wii are resting up with a case of the TBD.

As for Eternal Sonata on PS3, this backs up the information from April showing that the ESRB had rated Eternal Sonata for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. Oddly enough, now Eternal Sonata isn't listed by the ESRB at all, even though it had Teen rating before. No word on release or official announcement for PS3, but the Xbox 360 version of Eternal Sonata is expected next week.

Of course they're going to PS3. 360 Owners won't support anything that doesn't have Master Chief of Gears of War in them.

Exactly. Since I don't have a 360 (at least not yet) both of these games coming to PS3 is great news for me (although I think it was already obvious they were coming to PS3). Really, Eternal Sonata/Trusty Bell looks like a great game in the vein of the Tales series.

thank goodness for katamari. my girlfriend will finally have a reason to pick up a ps3 controller. her foray into warhawk ended with an abrupt "i suck" as she dropped the controller and walked away.

As a 360 owner who played through the demo all I can think about this is...Great! The more people that get to experience a good game the better. Games can't even hope to be taken seriously as an artistic medium until fanboyism BS dies.

This is great news that Eternal Sonata and Beautiful Katamari will come out on the PS3. I think Beautiful Katamari will be a PSN game and that is great. Sony needs more PSN games and this series is a good one and as for Eternal Sonata that game really looks nice and I can't wait to play it.

I wish they'd port this to the Wii, too. The graphics are great, but it's just cell shaded type stuff. Nothing the Wii can't handle.
I really want this game but would like to hold off on buying another console for as long as I humanly possibly can!

360 owners may not like to read, but reading games is so 1992.

With all the sophisticated technology to increase the level of immersive storytelling, who the hell wants to read dialogue, or watch crappy cinematics?

I think every game developer needs to play Half Life 2 to see how it's done.

Games have evolved past reading. What's next? making games with only 3 lives?

Hopefully this will amount to the same amount of bs that the "Bioshock coming to the ps3" rumor did. Or even the Overlord rumors.

I think "ACCIDENTALLY" posting Eternal Sonata as PS3 twice in a row is too coincidental to be mistakes. It's coming to PS3 and I think it's time we all accept it. They can remove it all they want but I think their carelessness has already done it's damage now. Expect it to be announced after the 360 version comes out.

As for Katamari, it was never officially canned on PS3, only removed from a list of upcoming games for some convention or financial report or something. Same with several other games.
