It doesn't take a genius to realise that they're not going to have 1000 gamerscore for EACH game!

Unlocking all of these achievements will be an achievement itself! I could not tell if there are achievements for Half-Life (1).

lol...yea...unlocking all 99 achievements'll be quite a mission.

I've never touched the Half Life franchise. Is it important that I play the first one before getting into Half Life 2 or is it a totally different storyline a la GTA series?

I played HL2 without playing 1 and was fine. You could always Wikipedia the first for plot details.

Finally, some achievments that will keep some of us occupied. Although I will be distracted with Halo 3, Mass effect, Assassin's Creed etc. I will still be giving this game(s) a lot of attention.

I'd much rather have these 99 good achievments that may present a challenge than the appauling 49 sad excuses for achievments Halo 3 is offering.

@8, HL2 continues on after the closure of the original game. The story in HL is very interesting and I think that it would add value to your gameplay with HL2.

For those who didn't play Half-Life one, it's not hard to find a summary of the story so far and jump right into HL2 (like I did).

And even though I played this game 3 years ago (and multiple times through) I can't wait to play it all over again (and get the achievments) and of course finally get the next chapter of the story with Episode 2. I can't really explain just how much I want this game, but for all those Halo Fanboys it's like the wait for Halo 3, only I know that even then I have to wait for Episode 3 for the conclusion of the franchise.

Its 5 games not 3.

Half Life 2

Half Life 2 Episode 1

Half Life 2 Episode 2

Team Fortress

Portal

Its gonna be weak getting 1 hundred kills with each class in team fortress for a whopping 5 gamerscore. Or how about beating one of the halflife games which is about a 15 hour campaign for a whole 5 gamerscore?

I dont know if these will be actual achievments in the game cause I dont really care to look, but I know it's gotta be along these lines. Valve has made a fatal error.

Holy shit, I've been waiting for TF2 since 1998 : http://web.archive.org/web/19990910123935/http://sierrastudios.com/games/teamfortress/

" [December 18, 1998] - I Want My TF ™ II
Well folks, Team Fortress ™ 2 will be here shortly..."

I got so excited with BioShock and Metroid 3 and Eternal Sonata and all the other stuff coming out of the floodgates in the next few months that I actually *forgot* about the Orange Box. Now, my terrible dilemma: do I get the PC version (cheaper, community content is "free" in both senses of the word) or the 360 version (guaranteed not to have issues with my PC's aging hardware)? I don't have the cash for both, so... help?
