Hats off* to 2P Start for finding a way to spin the spin of Lair -- the logic is so dizzying, it's like we were actually trying to pull a 180-degree turn in the game (zing!). Consequently, the comic earned top honors in this week's webcomic wrapup.
Second place to Digital Unrest, and Penny Arcade has garnered third place. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!
* We took our hats off for them; "pants off" is optional but encouraged.
Here's the breakdown:

All they had to do was make the dragon control like the Warhawk in Warhawk (minus the weaponary).. problem solved.
F0ck sixaxis for flight games.

You mean, fock SixAxis when it isn't used CORRECTLY in flight games. It's used pretty well in Warhawk, what with being able to accurately control your hawk whilst being able to aim your weapons with the analog sticks... when I played, there was only a very slight bit of lag to the motion sensing, which I expected anyway. If only Lair used controls as refined as those, there'd be less slack on the controls (it'd all be directed into the horrid voice acting and the overall generic feeling of the game in direct contrast to its supposedly epic scale). Oh, and yes, I've played both games.

I never understood why game developers are so eager to implement flight controls using the Sixaxis.
We've been using joysticks for flight ever since Orville and Wilbur Wright developed the concept of three-axis control (pitch, yaw, aileron) for fixed wing aircraft. It doesn't make sense why we're all of a sudden ignoring those two little joysticks that have always been on our gamepads, not because motion sensing is proven to be better, but because of Sony's lame marketing push to make their "innovations" seem relevant.

This new and exciting thread will roll into how a dragon should fly. Obviously I take inspiration from Charizard in SSBB that they should glide but only in one direction until they get stopped.

heh, wasn't the old SDF argument that controls aren't important in a game?

*He delights in seeing the SDF eat a mouthfull of "tacked-on waggle controls" humble pie*

Wow. With apologies to the webcomic creator, that artwork is simply horrible. Not 'sylistic', just bad. And the joke is incredibly unoriginal. I'm really surprised that won.

SKATE is so much better than Tony Hawk's latest that it makes me cry just thinking about Tony Hawk selling any copies. Heres our comic about such things...
