Reportedly originating from a now yanked page on the official Japanese Xbox 360 site, several gloriously violent images depicting what appears to be Ninja Gaiden 2 have been preserved at dutch site Gamed.nl. While we await confirmation (or debilitating denial) from Microsoft, be sure to gaze lovingly at what could be Tecmo's long-awaited ninja kill-em-up sequel. With our analysis failing to detect any familiar content, we're fairly certain this isn't yet another remake of the original Xbox classic in the vein of Ninja Gaiden Omega Beta Orange.
What will evoke familiar responses, however, is the sheer number of severed limbs featured in the screenshots. You'll spot flying heads, arms, feet, torsos and more blood than you ever thought the human body could hold.
Update: Microsoft's take on Ninja Gaiden 2? "At this time, we have nothing to announce."
[Thanks, Jean]

A rumor in this case is just a fact that hasn't been confirmed by an "official" source yet. What I'm saying is...This is definitely Ninja Gaiden 2.
It doesn't look much different from Ninja Gaiden Sigma, though, just shinier. And gorier.

This will be awesome on the PS3. Hopefully just a timed exclusive on 360. Team Ninja can't ignore use Sigma gamers for long!

This hasn't been confirmed for any system yet, so hold your horses there, bucko. Yes the pictures are on an Xbox site, but that doesn't mean anything as far as exclusivity.
I have to think that a PS3 version is in the works. It seems like they wouldn't have put all that work into an impressive remake the of the original if they didn't have any plans to build off it.

Ha. Awesome. I love Ninja Gaiden. I don't see a difference in graphics between PS3's Ninja Gaiden Sigma and this one either. Can't wait for this title. Bring on the games. Death to shooters.. except for Halo 3 of course.

Wow look at the immature little fanboys.
"In your face PS3!"
God forbid everyone gets to enjoy this game. And the first ones on the old XBOX didn't even sell that well so where is all this excitement coming from? Oh yeah, because it's ammo against the PS3 owners.
It's a shame the director of these games is a 360 fanboy because I think this type of game would do better on the PS3 or at least multiplatform. Xbox fans mostly prefer shooter and PC ports anyway so this game is wasted on them. And the 360 doesn't even exist in Japan so there go those sales.
Oh well, have fun with this one guys. Heavenly Sword and God of War will fil this void for me. Its a shame since I did enjoy Sigma.

Way to generalize all Xbox 360 owners, and you're calling them immature little fanboys.
As I look into my selection of games I own, I have one FPS. One (BioShock). Out of 10 games. Oh damn.

Until Tecmo and Team Ninja say, "There is NO PS3 version coming out" I will continue to believe they were testing the ps3 ground with sigma, and it passed with flying colors!

To all the haters: Get over yourselves. This game will end up on the PS3, assuming Sony doesn't continue some of the boneheaded moves of the last several months and their console is doing well next year or whatever. It won't be a simultaneous release, but a timed exclusive for 360 on the order of 6 months-1 year.
I'm currently on the Wii60 kick myself, but the PS3 is just one or two games and another price drop from finding its way onto my equipment rack, so I don't see the need for excessive hatred for it. Sigma on that system is quite pretty, and if it had been a real sequel instead of just NG Black Plus HD it would have sold me the system on its own.
Anybody who styles him/herself a "fanboy" of just one machine is either cheap, broke, or just wants to narrow the list of available games they can play. That or under 16, I was a bit of a Nintendo Fanboy back when it and Sega were the only ones in the game and I was in middle school, as soon as I got a job and actually played more than a handful of Genesis games I realized how foolish I had been.

All this arguing. The console with the best games is the best console. Last gen it was the PS2. Currently, it is the 360. The future is always unclear. It is that simple.
Gaiden 2 will be awesome and everyone should be excited for it. I like the limbs flying. Very Kill Bill. Also realistic in the sense that badass Ninjas must have dismembered everything that looked at them cross, including grandmothers and children.
Also, Warhawk is a decent game. It is great for a budget title. But let's not bother talking about how awesome Warhawk is in a Gaiden 2 thread. Seriously. What does a AA budget shooter have to do with a AAA Ninja game?
Let's be real, Warhawk would not have a quarter the uber-pumped fans on Joystiq if it weren't an exclusive. And Gaiden is so awesome that a remake of the two year old version is the best (according to reviewers) PS3 "exclusive" out and will remain that way until next year.
So again, please don't post about Warhawk in Gaiden/Halo/Bioshock/Mass Effect threads. Nobody cares.

anyone else think that this looks EXACTLY the same as sigma? other than it being a little extra shiny and there's more blood on the decapitation. so until they show us more than this i say big deal

I'm sorry, but Sigma to me seemed like the "no big deal". I already played Ninja Gaiden. Sigma was the same game with some pretty polish.
Now, they will have a new game, with new environments, new enemies, new weapons, and a new story... oh yeah, and it will have that pretty polish. The fact is, they finally have a new game, and it looks great.
I just hope they don't ease up on the difficulty level.

A future PS3 port/remake is always possible but Itagaki made it clear that 360 is Team Ninja's system of choice.
"Do I have to bring every game to every platform in order to make everyone happy? You can't do everything but I want people to understand that this does not negatively effect or slow down my work for the 360. The 360 is the core of Team Ninja. Period."

Which is why I don't expect to see a PS3 port especially when Itagaki didn't even work on Ninja Gaiden Sigma. but we will see. Honestly I would want the PS3 guys to get this but they get God of War 3 so this is a good trade off

This man speaketh the truth.
At the same time, it is fun to argue and bitch. I have the Wii60 rocking currently. Once the PS3 has games worthy of my time and money, I'll rock it too. But until the PS3 has a smash hit title that lives up to its billing, I will make fun of it and laugh at the reactions.

the most expensive components in the ps3 are dropping in price fast (blu ray diode). That and the removal of the EE.
It doesnt mean its doomed when the price drops. It just means they are getting the price closer to what consumers would regularely pay.

oh my fuck, where are you getting this garbage? Please keep trying though. I'm enjoying seeing you get ripped to shreds. Sigma could barely sell 130,000 copies in North America. The true sequel will sell 3 times that much for 360. Recognize the gravy train, fool!

This is what I think of Sigma. It is a good game, or it was when it was called NG: Black. The only reason Team Ninja ported the game to PS3 and called it Sigma was to get their new engine ready for next-gen hardware, that way they don't piss off xbox owners with yet another version of the original.
Now that Sigma has run its course it is time for the series to return home with some shiny new gifts. Looks like Ryu is sporting some new 'kicks' in the above image, maybe they are for both combat and possibly..... scaling walls?

Cheers there!
Personally, I just hope they stepped up the story this time. I loved the gameplay of NGB but largely ignored the story.

This is true there is no console picked yet but due to the abysmal sales on the PS3 and Mr. Rockstar himself saying he had nothing to do with Sigma, he was just letting one of his teams do the remake to see the reaction on the other system. Which wasn't good hence abysmal sales.....Team Ninjas main focus is the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS. So I don't plan on putting this game in a PS3 anytime soon. And more than likely MS will pull a Bioshock and buy it just to make sure...lol

I'm want to see if this gets rated AO or M. If it does get rated M I want to know what made Manhunt 2 worth the AO rating.
