Epic's Mark Rein made a post on Epic's Unreal Tournament forums last Friday saying there is "no guarantee" of a November release on the PS3. He says they don't know when the game will be completed, but says they want to offer UT3 when it is finished instead of just getting it out the door. Next-Gen interprets this to mean that there may be a delay incoming, meanwhile GI.biz (which didn't link their source material) says that this puts "PS3 Unreal Tournament exclusivity in doubt." The PC version would also be affected by this issue.
Remember how we were talking about "happy delays" and "sad delays"? This is a little bigger than a possible "sad delay." It tosses another log -- a major log given the E3 press conference -- on the PS3's delay bonfire. Even though it also affects PC, it's just not a healthy hit for the PS3 to take at the moment on the console front. We're just wondering who's going to talk or spin this story first -- Sony or Epic? There's also no word if this possible delay will push off the Xbox 360 release to give the PS3 an exclusivity window. This is not a game the PS3 wants to lose for the holiday season, but it's also a franchise Epic won't put in danger by being partially done for release.

Ugh, have you EVER gamed outside of XBL? Do you have any idea know how many YEARS user created mods can extend the life of a game?
I'll take cool maps and weapons created by modders, clans, etc. over achievements and gamer scores.
Infact, I'd take PC over any of today's consoles. But the two things I find very interesting about the PS3 version of UT3 over the 360 is downloadable mods, and the (possible?) inclusion of PS3 vs. PC games.

He would not make a comment like this unless it was almost certain that the game will be delayed. This affects the comapny bottom line so they are pretty much trying to soften the blow with investors.

Either way, this would seriously suck, as this is one of the top games to come out this year, at least it is on PC. I know half a dozen people building rigs this year, heavily based off of this game coming out....

this game has been DONE on the pc. epic would have already released the pc version, with the xbox 360 a week after it in late august. its all because of sony paying epic to not release the game for any platform before the ps3 version that this happened.
now a great game is going to go unsold because of crowding in the market on pc with crysis/hl2ep2 and the 360 with halo 3/cod4/hl2:ob.

You have no idea what Epic would have done. They're obviously annoyed at Microsoft for forcing them to charge for addon packs and refusing to allow mods.
i'm pretty sure there arent any other games that are "timed exclusives" except the ones sony paid for.
forget your fanboyism for a second and realize i dont care who is doing it but it needs to stop because the whole idea is ridiculous and is ruining the game industry.
the general consensus is that sony screws developers and microsoft / nintendo reach out to them. let the developers do what they want and we wont have half assed ports and delayed games for the soul reason of bribery.
They usually just say when it's done.

Also, if we want to play on PC servers, we'll need the mods installed on them. (everything from serverutils to special weapon packs and new gametypes)
