Eternal Sonata is on PS3 reports Famitsu

Remember how yesterday we reported that Eternal Sonata is coming to PS3 because it was listed on the official Namco Bandai site? Well, if you didn't follow the story after that, Namco Bandai pulled the information later. Now, in a classic Willy Wonka "Scratch that, reverse it" moment, Famitsu reports that the Eternal Sonata is coming to PS3 in Japan during the spring of '08.

We're also expecting the PS3 version of Beautiful Katamari -- also part of yesterday's disappearing act -- to show up announced somewhere in the relative future too. What we still find funny is that Eternal Sonata is still not listed on the ESRB website, despite it coming out next week in the States. The ESRB was who originally tipped off everyone that Eternal Sonata would make its way to PS3.

Yes, except AC turned into a simeoutaneous release. Eternal Sonata is expected, by Famitsu, to hit PS3 basically a year after being released on 360.

I think its safe to say that Lost Oddeyysess is also going to be on PS3 now. Since its been delayed and all. You know how 360 games only get delayed beacuse of PS3 versions.

It's made by Mistwalker who was bought by Microsoft if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, no chance in hell.

I thought Microsoft only acted as publisher to Mistwalker. Some people need to start learning the difference.

Yeah, I don't think Mistwalker is owned by Microsoft.

They ARE, after all, making ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat for the DS. Which will be published by Nintendo, not Microsoft.

It will be announced to come out next year, and then delayed till 2010.

The fact that it has shown up on Namco Bandai's site and then been removed confirms it for me. They don't want people to know about a PS3 version and its probable set of extras for fear that it will affect sales of the 360 version.

What sales I don't know anyone who was buying Eternal Sonata...More power to them make this a PS3 game so everyone can play it...I sure as hell wasn't just gimmie my Ninja Gaiden 2....But Sony Defense Force said the Ninja Gaiden fans lost interest in it so maybe I shouldn't buy it? Since when were the Ninja Gaiden fans playing a playstion?

Speaking of Assasin's Creed, Is it releasing this November?

Well if Bandai-Namco keeps being 360 exclusive... they will become a no-name player in their home country... not something to look forward to.

And you guys can keep your BD and Lost Oddessy POS.. the only reason they are hyped is because there are no rpgs for 360.

Yeah.

I've been playing RPGs since Dragon Warrior and FF1 and to call BD a POS is blasphemy (the game is amazing) and to call Lost Oddesey a POS is retarded as nobody has any idea what it's even like yet.

That being said, I would like to see less sloppy seconds on my PS3 and more MGS4...

Gah, I'm known as a PS3 guy around here so anytime you make statements like that, Konny, it makes me look bad by association. Blue Dragon is... well, possibly the most formuliac RPG in years but Lost Odyssey looks interesting.

Oh, and Bloo... I'd hate to say it but I tried Blue Dragon and I had to ask myself, when so many other RPGs are breaking up the formula and making the games better, why should I play a game who's sole ambition was to fill a checkbox on "WhatisaJapaneseRPG.com?" When things slow down in RPGs, then I'll take a look at their uber expensive EveryGame.

Is not like when everyone says Bioshock goes to PS3 too?
Or like when everyone says Metal Gear goes to Xbox360?
Or like when everyone is still saying Final Fantasy XIII goes for Xbox360 too after a year.

Also Microsoft in their conference in japan say eternal sonata and kamatari are exclusives.
All is rumor until some developer stand up and say no!! or yes!!!

And even then that doesn't really mean anything.

Just like we'll see ace combat 6. Even if it is called ace combat 7.

This should take the sting out of the Ninja Gaiden 2 news.

can we all agree that a couple of month exclusive is pretty long....once ps3 gamers get it, it will be far from the minds of 360 players..but they are saying a year...man thats long.

If there arent any good games out at the time, it could be tough. from Sept-----on its nonstop with the great games.

Not surprising. Without 360, you can't sell next gen in America. Without PS3, you can't sell next gen in Japan.

360 owners should sign a petition for this. And then boycott NBGI.

I'd try to get behind that but they hold Tales and Gundam, and Time Crisis. Any commit from me for the petition will last as long as the development time.

Wait. Isn't this old news? I'm pretty sure it was announced awhile ago that Eternal Sonata was also going to the ps3.

I think that was all speculation and leaks. Once it appears in Famitsu, its almost official.

Unless they started a rumor section, like EGM did.

Yeah if its true this sucks...

However I'm still buying Eternal Sonata cuz it just looks so beautiful and the demo was excellent.
