On a final note its amazing to me that the ps3 hasn't even hit 5 million yet.

Look I am not going to even bother typing a huge response. In response to the WII library, I will say look at the PS2 library, for every 1 good game there are 10 horrible ones it has been that way since PS1.

Two If not for the WII gaming would have had a horrible crash, people aren't buying the xbox 360 and the PS3 which means after the initial "hardcore" gamer picked it up who else would have bought them. They out priced themselves for the average gaming public, and casuals who never gamed before were not going to pick up those systems.

You can lie to yourself all you want but the PS3 and the XBOX 360 are not casual friendly systems, end of story. There is room for all three systems but the WII is winning this console generation by being friendly to all, you don't like by all means don't pick one up. The WII will get a plethora of great games and a Plethora of bad games just like all leading console systems do. Need I remember people 50 cent's game did well off of PS2, and xbox while psychonaunts sold nothing and went nowhere. Was the games centered around 50 cent and, games like a Bugs life created for hard core players? No it was made for casual mainstream players who just picked up games, but they were fine then because they were selling on Sony.

You can cry all you want about Nintendo it won't change the fact, you want to be angry be angry at Sony and MS for listening to all their fanboys rather than bringing out a cost effective system that could also have beautiful graphics. They tried to gouge their fans, and they got burnt. Remember Peter Moore going to India saying "The kind of fan he wants is the kind that is willing to go hungry to buy a 360" do you remember Ken Kuturagi exclaiming "You should be thankful a PS3 is this cheap.", and you are wondering why they can't win over the customers?

Nintendo is doing what is called showing the customer respect, gamers are so starved for it that when a company does it, they feel they are sucking up or selling out. Well guess what this is what companies do, cry, angst, try to fight against the "man" that shows you respect and wants to make only fun games. While you accept a game company that says, you should be happy to be able to buy their expensive system and wait for games. In the end it doesn't matter, blarg I ended up writing a long response anyway.

Thats the problem most people now want online play. I know a lot of people that will rent a single player experience, but buy an online experience.

The days of playing video games by yourself are over, and there not coming back.

Gears of war 2 player co-op through the campaign
Halo3 4 player co-op through the campaign.

As for nintendo they should do a poll to see who owns more than just Wii sports and Wii play.

The logic that 3rd party developers will start making Wii games now because of its install base is slightly flawed.

A game needs to target a demographic. Yes some games, mostly consolers or SMB type games appeal t a vary broad demographic. But most, life FPS, RPG, are a little more niche.

Nintendo has made a very great console for mass appeal. But how do you make games when you aren't exactly sure what your demographic is?

Is it grandmas? Soccer moms? Little kids? Hardcore gamers? Hardcore grandmas?

I would find it difficult to determine what type of game to design. Now if Nintendo starts polling their user base and gets an idea of the desired games that would change alot of things for the 3rd party developers.

I applaud Nintendo for finally coming back to dominance in the home console arena they've always ruled handhelds....Hopefully they have some 3rd party support to back up the high sales. MS should be proud of themselves right now..They run their home turf which is what they set out to do in the first place, can't sell in Japan, and is middle ground in Europe so they need to step in up in Japan..I see they are trying so hopefully it pays off. Sony should be a little pissed just because Nintendo caught MS so quickly and they are so far behind. But its still early so Sony still has a chanc to catch up.

anyways, this is excellent news for my NTDOY stock, don't care if the Wii is being played or not, people are buying it!! (mine is getting played--just not as much as my 360 but more than my PS3).

Nintendo Wii brings revolutionary changes with the Wiimote. And the price is also reasonable. Otherwise, Sony Playstation3 is most powerful system ever, better than Xbox360. However, the PS3 has one big problem that is price. Actually, my apartment rent fee is $680 per month. If I spend $600 for PS3, It brings a big trouble. Currently, PS3 $100 price down, but it will make nothing happen to the war. It’s already over. I think “Wiifit” will present the final result.
